I built my igo-w today. Dual coils with cotton. Reading at .9-1.0 ohms. When dry burning the coils one coil would take longer to light up that the other. This is my first time with dual coils so I don't know if that's normal. I wouldn't think so. I went ahead and added the cotton. I get very little vapor production and NO taste. What could possible problems be?

Try to keep the legs on your coils equal distance from the posts so the current flows evenly through the coils. Little vapor could be you are drowning out the coils with too much juice, the coils are too low in the unit so the air is flowing too high, or you aren't heating them enough (again juice issue) to vaporize the liquid. You didn't show how it's wicked so we can only guess about that.

The uneven heating happened to my first dual coul build in my W too. What had happened, for me, was I tightened one of the negative (outside) screws too tight and it ended up clipping the wire, so while the wire was still making contact, it was a bad connection. Once I removed that coil, it worked beautifully. Not sure if that's your problem though.

The low vapor and taste is what Botomline said. You just have too much juice saturating the coils. Again, happened with my first build.

BTW, what are you using the Igo on? If you're trying to use an ego, I guarantee it won't work the way you want it to lol

I have it on a Provari.

What gauge wire are you using? I have found that smaller gauged-wire tends to do this. My theory is that one of the wires is making a good ground connection but the other isn't make as good of a connection, hence the lesser amount of current flowing to one than the other. Another possibility is that the one coil is tighter than the other. The tighter coil, due to the closer proximity of the wires to each other, allows the heat to pass from one loop to another faster.

If you are running a wick through, try to run the coils high in the airstream, reduce the wick so the air can flow top and bottom of coil and try again. If that doesn't help, up the power a bit.

If it's still weak, I'm stumped and would try recoiling. But others will probably chime in with ideas.

Well here's my oddity for the night. I found a creme brûlée torch, so I made a micro coil using 30 ga Kanthal, came out to 1.6 ohms, and torched it while compressing it with tweezers. Using it on my SVD, it is the most ridiculous amount of vapor I have ever made. So I tried to up it, making it a dual coil at 0.8 ohms. MUCH weaker vapor, and I was having the uneven heating thing like you are. I figured out that one of the ground wires was touching the other coil, so I fixed that and the uneven heating thing went away. But now I'm left with much much less vapor when I put it on my mech mod. I'm guessing my battery is getting weak, I don't know. But these things certainly are temperamental.

Thank you , I've had this for a while and flavor and hit was sub par just moved the coil up a bit and voila nice vapor production, was trying to figure out why everyone praised dripping turns out I was doing it wrong I'm enjoying it now thanks again,

I had an uneven heating problem in my IGO-W as well. It's a dragon dual nano coil build, and had been heating evenly when I first built it. After flooding it, I took out the cotton, and noticed one coil heating quicker than the other. After reading this thread, I checked for a loose leg or touching coils. Didn't seem to be a problem with those things, but I did move the coils around a little bit (dragon coils are angled up), and when I test fired again, the coils glowed evenly again.

TL;DR - simply wiggling the coils around a little might help with uneven heating, as well.
