is there anything i have to watch out for with mech mods? like.. safety wise? (other than the obligatory smoke, fire, melting battery, hotness..) I have to admit I haven't looked into them that much.
Forgive my ignorance. Is there a resource somewhere that I can look at that will in somewhat simple terms explain the whole battery thing? Looking at tasteyourjuice's battery page and im just confusing myself
As long as you are using standard LR builds and up (1.5-3.0) using standard 10A batts you will be fine.If you are going to go sub ohm you will need to use 30-35A batts, nothing else.
There's more to it than just batteries! You have to make sure coil dosent contact any metal except for the propper posts. If this would happen, would also be bad. Also you have to check condition of positive post on 510 connection making sure its not making contact with neg. Part of 510 connection. Not trying to scare you just pointing out things to pay attention to.
not explicitly planning on doing sub ohm builds but i wouldn't mind the possibility of trying it out. Would you happen to have any suggestions for both 10A and 30-35A batts? I'm looking at the "battery basics for mods" page here on the forum, it's quite helpful, but there only seems to be a few choices for the higher amps and I'm just wondering which you might think would be the best choice for me.
also any suggestions on a real good battery charger? I'm seeing a lot of cheap ones looking around.. the one PBusardo recommends on Taste your Juice is out of stock, and googling it doesn't seem to be finding me any luck..
man.. so much really useful info... I gotta thank all of you.
anyone out there have any good suggestions for a middle of the road mech? I don't mind spending a little more on one if it's going to be worth it.. Don't exactly have 100 dollars to spend on just the tube, but going by the "you get what you pay for mantra" I kinda worry about grabbing one for 30 bucks.. Am I just being a worrier?
