Igo w4 = blah; will all RDA's disappoint me?

I have a Kfl+. It is, for the most part, awesome. I hear such great things about rda's so I bought an Igo w4 at my local B&M. I was so disappointed. The draw, of course -- I know the air holes need to be drilled out. But it didn't offer anything close to the taste of my kayfun. I usually run about 1.3 ohms, but I tried a 1 ohm build on the Igo. Do I need to be subohming to really enjoy rda's? I'd really like to buy a nice RDA -- I hear good things about the Patriot, for example -- but I don't want to be disappointed again.

Thoughts?

If you want all the flavor of a dripper, but far more convenient save your money for a reo, greatest vape you can get IMHO .

I dunno man, I loved my Igo W4. I usually built around a 1.5 ohm micro coil and popped some cotton in it. I have to dial back the nic level of the juice I was using and figure out my favorite way to route the cotton. I also drilled ONE air hole out to 1/16" and positioned it right in front of the coil. I also own a kayfun and I like them both, but personally prefer an RDA.

I'm completely reverse lol I have tons of rda's that vape amazing, and a kayfun that really just angers me. I don't like how hot the vape is, it can't fill my lungs with as much vapor, and it's not really friendly as far as time per build compared to snap apart rda's. It has better flavor I'd say, BUT barely

The better flavor with the kayfun is due to the small chamber and bottom airflow. Drippers are great for blowing big ... clouds but the flavor is often muted especially big drippers with big airholes at super low resistance. If you want to get the most out of your dripper than i suggest drilling out the holes slightly (my preference is 5/64" (about 2mm)) and line them up with the coil (I recommend microcoils with ekowool) as best possible. I shoot for around 0.8-1.2 ohm (same as my kayfuns/russian)-again just my opinions. You might have to build a few times with different wick and resistance to find whats right for you. Drippers definitely have their place but IMO nothing, and i mean nothing tops the kayfun style atomizers for flavor.

Drippers are going to be different by nature from a Kayfun type atomizer. Personally, I like both, but give the edge to a dripping atomizer. I have some Igos drilled out and prefer the airy draw and cooler vape. I still get a lot of flavor, even compared to the Kayfun Lite.

Small chamber RDA give the best flavor in my opinion

The REO is n excellent bottom feeder mech mod, but at the end it's a battery holder / means of avoiding dripping

The flavor itself comes from the RM2 and the build you have

The cyclone, igo-s, trivecca, phoenix, give lots of very saturated flavor. I have one or more of each of these and also IGO-L, -W, Trident Clone, none of them give me the same flavor

Thats the reason the KFL has the chamber reducer

and yes, i also have a KFL, like it a lot for when going out but prefer dripping / bottom feeding at home

It is going to depend on the wick material, ohm, gauge of wire, your juice.. but I would try building a single or dual microcoil setup with cotton.. dialing in around ~.7 ohms for great flavor and vapor production.. you also want a top cap that isnt too big, a drip tip that isnt too bored(not the most important), and you want your air flow to be pretty small.. remember if you follow all my instructions you will really need to SUCK on your rda with allot of force to get enough airflow through the atomizer but the results are not debatable.. the flavor is outstanding.. why do you think you hear all these people raving about their grand+rm2 combos.. the rm2 has small cap, small airflow, and most of them are using small tips, and they are building at the sweet spot of around .8 and they are using cotton.. this all sums up to awesome flavor and decent clouds... remember mechanicals aren't just for cloud chasing they can also be for an awesome flavorful vape it all depends on the setup of your topper.. (hate when people say 'oh you have a mech? pshhh i dont buy into that cloud chasing stuff' ..... my usual response is 'i don't either???, in fact i get better flavor and throat hit than you do.. you just think im not cause im chunking these fat clouds in your ..... ... face /walkoff'

We're all different, I guess. To me, there is no comparison between a Kayfun and an RDA. The Kayfun isn't anywhere close. I have several drippers; and I usually build dual micro coils, ~.4 to .6 ohms.
