I tried something different today rewicking the EXO. There is a 3.5mm ID Tsuka coil in it, pulled the Rayon through like usual, but did the tails a little differently. I cut them straight up from the edge of the deck and then just folded them down into the juice channel. There is enough wick to just fill the top of the channel without packing it and it is wicking perfectly with no flooding, not that I have ever had any flooding.

Just make sure the amount of tail does actually fill the channel, and if it doesn't because of a smaller ID coil, leave a tiny smidgen extra. There is nothing to trim this way either, just wet the tail and gently smooth down the top fibers.

Like everything YMMV. ;)
Since you cut it straight up from the edge of the deck that means you used the full tail right?

Yes indeed, the full tail no trimming required. You don't really have to thin the tails if they are short, like when wicking the Rose V3.

Not my Picture, but I really think that I need to pick up a Rose V3. :w00t:

Or like on my Rose V2, the tail is split between the two channels with no thinning.

Here and there I hear people mention the Rose. I don't know anything about it aside from the name. Think I'll investigate. So when you say fill the channel, is there wick filling the entire juice channel or just on top of the juice channel?

    Somewhere between here and there
I had something odd happen yesterday when cleaning my exo. I had it under running water and was having a hard time unscrewing the base when I suddenly pulled off the airflow ring. I panicked at first but then after looking at it, I popped it back on and it seems fine.

The AFC ring is just held on with an o-ring, it is supposed to come off. :thumb:

Just the top of the channel, I rarely have any wick go to the bottom of the channel on any atty I build. ;)

The Rose V2 had amazing flavor and a tight draw, you can get a very restricted DL hit if you wanted but it designed as a MTL tank. It has a steep learning curve to build on because of the postless deck and the DT is not changeable as it is part of the chimney.

The Rose3 has had the airflow opened up quite a bit and is much easier to build on. The authentic are very expensive and I don't know which of the clones is the best version, will have to look into that for sure. Let me know if you pick one up.

Damien who reviews all of the HEMO gear, has a good video of the Rose3.

I'm not willing to buy a bench vise. Besides, I'd probably end up destroying the tank.
Mine wasn't leaking but I figured I would so some preventative maintenance. I have a bench vise but decided not to use it.
I just grabbed 2 pieces of 2x4 wood, drilled a hole in one of them for the 510, placed the other piece of wood on top and gave it a few love taps.
Ironically, the juice flow now spins better. Before there was a few spots that was kind of tight, not the spinning has a consistent feel all around.

That's the way it comes apart for cleaning.

Thanks I will, if I get it, it will be a clone :D

Finally slapped the 6 mil tank on this bad boy (single coil). Vape is bit cooler but no complaints at all.
For all you leakers, the only way that I have found to keep this thing leakless is to keep the jfc closed until you feel it needs more juice. Then open them and let it have a good burp and close them again. If you have it sit on your desk and not moving around, you can get away with leaving the jfc open. But if you're carrying this thing around, jfc must be closed at all times.
This is probably going to be my last rta until someone comes up with an engine nano style rta that could deliver air from the bottom of the coil. Am I asking for too much? :-x

    You be quiet :pervy:

    Now you're talking.
airflow is really nice on it. smooth and top airflow but with bottom flavor. it routes from the top to under the coils then up the chimney. even if juice got into the airflow system it would never make it up the airflow and out of the tank. kinda like the p trap on a sink

I'm going to try doing this next time I use the EXO but that means I won't be able to vape and drive :(

Have you tried an Engine Nano yet?
