Hold the JFC ring and unscrew the tank. If the tank comes apart instead of unscrewing off the base, you need to tighten up the top and bottom chimney sections.

The tank only needs to be screwed down finger tight when you put it back on the base.

You were right. The tank came apart. I can't even get the chimney section off with pliers. How can I prevent that part getting stuck to the build deck? I use pliers to tighten the 6ml extender to the chimney section but eventually everything comes apart...except for the chimney fused to the build deck.

That had only happened once to me because the tank/chimney section was not tight enough. You will need to find a way to hold onto the JFC ring (pliers just on the narrow part with the cutouts) and then turn the chimney section off with a rubber strap or something that can get a good grip on it. Don't put too much squeezing force on the chimney tube itself, it will make it even harder to remove. If it's cross threaded, then you might never be able to remove the chimney section.

I don't know of any way to prevent that from happening in the future, the tank and base should only ever be finger tight.

I really like the Exo. I had leaking issues with the dual deck but no problem with the single. I might buy another one. I am disappointed with the kylin so far and am tired of buying new tanks and not liking them.

The longer I use this tank, the better I like it. I had been running one of the stock coils in it forever and just switched coils to a 26/32 kanthal Clapton. This time I raised the coil up a little bit and immediately noticed better flavor. Probably because now the side airflow is hitting the bottom of the coil better. I haven't had any leaking issues besides with the dual coil deck. I unscrewed the exo from my mod for the first time in weeks and it was dry as a bone underneath.

I got a new one yesterday. I vaped it all day with no problems. I'm really paranoid about the stuck chimney issue I had on the other tank. I will take this new tank apart more frequently to make sure it can come apart.

The only thing that sucks right now is the issue I'm having with my mod. I posted about it in the Therion 166 thread last Sunday but there have been no responses :(

When mine was still intact(won't say good cos of the conductivity issue) I nEver tightened down on anything....cos at one time...it got stuck and it took me 2 days and a Devine solution to get that thing separated...esp when all you have to hold on to for a good grip is the fragile glass tank.....

The only thing I've really tightened is the 6ml extender to the chimney. I'm trying to keep a light touch with everything else, especially the top cap. That used to get stuck to the 6ml extender :(

Funny thing is.....I didn't get a leak...even if there was; it was so minute a cursory tissue wipe sorted that out for 2 days...(as long as the juice was in the tank)...now don't get me wrong...I really do firm up a screw close...but I tighten with caution..I just screw it with the thot that ....it should be a bit tight close but not totally (the rock) tight. So I can make am effortless turn and it's open..... trust me...the exo tight lock...will take an army to set free...
