Wash
I've never had mine wiggle apart and I took Switchers advice and don't dry burn my attys or cartos. If you think about it when you heat metal up that hot it loses some of it's structural integrity. Just my :2c:

The only thing I don't like about these is the short wick but I guess the new ones will have longer wicks. Yipee

interesting about dry burning. so I take it you just deal with coil gunk and dispose when appropriate? any cleaning at all?

actually, my wicks are hella long! lol I was considering a trim, but will hold off for now. this thing EATS juice. I ripped through 2.5 mls on my riva 510 in an obscenely short amount of time, and 2 second draws fill my belly with vape lol

Wash
I will wash it with alcohol if it gets funky or toss it. They can be rebuilt too. Mine the wick just touches the tube on one side and doesn't come out at all on the other side but he is getting or has got longer ones. Yes they do hog juice but again that tank isn't that big. I like that because I have enough big tanks.

When I'm home I just pull out the plug and the drip tip and vape it open mouth

Much better hit and more comfortable. Just don't go above horizontal or you'll get a shot in the mouth! I hate drip tips honestly, I wish someone made a wide mouth standard cartomizer mouthpiece for these things

you *can* wiggle the tube off, but honestly there isn't much of a point. and doing that repeatedly with time will mess with the integrity of the seal and create leaks (speculating based on my experience with other clearos). The only thing it does is speed up the 'drying' step below.

just flush it with the hottest water you can get from under the tap for a minute or two, then soak in ethanol (vodka, PGA, whatever) for a few minutes to get rid of the flavor. (menthols/strong flavors may require longer). if you plan on refilling with the same flavor, or don't care, the booze step isn't necessary.

Vinegar is a reasonable substitute if yo don't have the booze.

Flush out the vinegar/alcohol with hot water. Let it dry.

Then dry burn (3 second pulses. use a low voltage device if you have one to be safe). Once you see red, and the coils look like coils again and all the black crap vanishes, you're good to go. If this process produces ash, you may want to either flush with hot water again, or drop some PG on there and burn it off.

Honestly I've refilled onto an ashy set of coils before and the nasty ash taste vanishes after about two hits.

Thanks. Before you posted this I put a dropper full of PG, around .5 mls, and secured the top piece, gave it a good shake and drained out the PG then repeated it for a second time. Put in a different flavor and it seemed to be just fine. Although, the new flavor was another tobacco flavored juice so this may be why there was no cross contamination of flavors.
Thanks again for the advice on a complete cleaning. I'll try this when the time comes.
BTW, I'm love this device, a new favorite. Using it on my Darwin and it rocks 4.5 volts. Only drawback is you can't close the arm with it attached.
