@Eskie maybe sterile is pushing it a little bit but with some of the things I have seen posted over the years online by some e-liquid manufacturers were pretty scary to be honest. There was on e-liquid manufacturer who posted a picture once of a barrel pouring e-liquid into a bottle sitting on the floor. This resulted in a major uproar and changes at the company. If memory serves me right they even posted a picture of a minor in that mixing lab. I feel we do need some regulations but nothing near what the FDA is doing.
Oh, I agree there. And standard good manufacturing practices should be in place. Records of what was made, and made of should be kept. Areas of preparation should be clean. Laboratory standard equipment should be used for proper measuring and mixing, not your home blender you brought in for the day to speed things up. Making sure individuals doing the preparation know how to do it, and do it with proper safety equipment such as nitrile gloves and safety glasses (really, a splash of that nic in your eye cannot feel good). And so on....
None of that is terribly fancy or difficult. It's good for the customer and good for the employees. And if that's all the FDA wants, terrific. But my gut is they will expect virtually pharmaceutical grade standards which simply aren't appropriate or necessary for these products. But yes, I'd rather not find a strand of the mixer's hair in my juice.
