I received the following email from representative Avery Bourne from Illinois:

In response to your specific concern regarding HB2404-regulation of electronic cigarettes, please be assured that I will do everything I can to preserve the freedoms that e-cigarette users now enjoy. I am opposed to the bill as it is written. The bill is still on the
Consumer Protection Committee agenda, with the next hearing scheduled for March 17 2015 at 3:00PM in the Stratton Building, Room C-1 Springfield, IL. You may be able to watch the proceedings online through this link:

As always, I appreciate your correspondence on this matter. If I can be of further assistance to you in the future regarding this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Then I read the sponsors proposed bill:

99TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
State of Illinois
2015 and 2016
HB2404

Introduced , by Rep. Kathleen Willis

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
105 ILCS 5/10-20.5b
from Ch. 122, par. 10-20.5b
410 ILCS 82/10
410 ILCS 82/35
Amends the School Code and the Smoke Free Illinois Act. Provides that specified provisions concerning cigarettes apply also to electronic cigarettes. Defines "electronic cigarette" as any electronically actuated device which in operation causes the user to exhale any smoke, vapor, or other substance other than those produced by unenhanced human exhalation. Permits theater actors to use electronic cigarettes within performance spaces. Defines other terms.
AND IT GOES ON and ON and ON.. Use the above link for the full text using her name and HB2404.

I intend to write a few words to the other co-sponsors as well. I understand the schools but the other areas of restrictions are outrageous.
Anyone willing to guide my comments with facts that are short and effective?

The sentence "Permits theater actors to use electronic cigarettes within performing spaces" blows me away. It's OK for an actor to vape in a theater??? What about the "CHILDREN"? OMG Somebody, anybody just shoot me......................or send me some words.....
Illinoisans: The names of the co-sponsors are also listed for the bill. Get their emails and share a word or two.
I could not find any comments by this committee. Too soon I guess.
