Getting an award is always nice. Where has AG been? I haven't been able to read or post often but it seems like a while since he has posted....

Is the desert still breezy or has it gone back to being hot and sticky.

Its All wind, starting to get cool out side. Don't know how hot it gets during the day. The Afghanies say its going to be a bad winter, I hope not because I hate the cold.:(

I can't imagine that we won't have a cold winter here in Montana, as we never really got a summer, there were a few warm days but mostly rain and chilly days. Luckily we get enough snow on our dirt roads that we don't have to worry about them getting muddy as there is always a nice thick layer of snow over them. As long as we don't have too many days in the negative 30's or below... I am happy. I lived in South Florida for ten years after college and I never could adapt to the heat, so this is good for me.

It seems as if everyone is keeping busy lately, as I miss a few days and when I check in the thread never moves as quickly as I thought it would.

Salem, I did read that you would not be getting the package out until mid November didn't I? I hope that is true as that will give me some time to get every together.

I hope the desert is treating all of you well!

I am like you, but I cannot adapted to the cold. Lived in Texas my hole life. I can barely imagine 30 and below but negative 30 I think I would take my chances again in that Iraq heat at 140 and above. I really don't like the snow.

It wasn't just the seasons, for ten years everyone told me that I would get used to the heat, I just never did. It was just always too hot and too sticky. And then coming into the AC all sweaty always felt nasty. There are only so many items of clothing you can take off before you are in your birthday suit and still hot... here I can always add another layer and get warm.

I don't mind the snow at the beginning of the season. It is always so beautiful and with the Mountains and the deer, elk and moose on the lake it is like a fairy tale... but winters are LONG here and by the end of winter... I AM OVER IT!

I agree with you on this one and it is a nice scenery just in pictures for me.
