Man, this thread never gets boring. Good morning everyone! ILTA, man if you had a VVPV you would love it, the beta isnt exactly battle ready but I figure when its finished its tour here we should ship it over so you can retrofit it with some chopper parts. A nice "stealth skin" would be nice

It may not be battle ready in the prototype state but it's in a fight for it's life going from one person to the next using USPS. I'm amazed it even shows up every time. It's doing pretty well on it's world tour too.

Ok you gotta laugh outta me 5card, but you aint getting a like for that one
I didn't think you would be going for that oky-doke Army. Besides Salem layed down the law.
Noooooooooooooooooooo............................. ............

I do have some Kevlar sheets, not sure how the dimensions or material on the VVPV would feel about a coat of 1/4 inch material being added to it. I could talk to the airframe guys, but I have the feeling it would be MUCH harder to acquire the shell material of the blackhawks than some grommets and tubes were. Hell it couldn't hurt to ask though, might have to build them a shed or something in return though lol.

I guess I have to say contract, cause I did sign.the contract is just service time all together. Deployments are only 12-15 months and I hear the next time I go it'll only be 9 months long. Far as when I'll be home, they never tell us until just before we leave because it'll get plastered all over facebook, and the wrong person may read it (they don't have many real roads but they sure do have internet) . We don't want to give 12 months notice for the enemy types to plan a going away bash.

Well thats good, your post made it sound like you would be in the dessert till 2015... and that is a very long time.

Way back when I dated an "army guy", I met him a few days after he got back from Iraq (the first time the US was there, compliments of Bush senior.) Based on the way he talked, 4 years would have been way too long! We were very young then and for all the negatives, he found many positives in being in a different country and seeing a different culture. And it must not have been that bad as after we broke up, he joined again and became a lifer! Found himself back in Iraq a few presidents later!

(The other "Army Guy" I dated never made it through basic, he hated it and got himself dishonerbly discharged as it was the only way he could get out)

Man I'm so bored lately, I start trying to mod everything. Then toss the idea of armoring up that cool looking device and I get all tingly inside lol.

Are you trying to mod "everything" or just PV stuff. Don't think uncle sam would appreciate modifications to your assault rifle.

wow, bet the guy doesn't even know where the trigger is anymore. Only modding I've done to my rifle is a rail system with a forward grip and a fiber optic ACOG. But as soon as my daisy stickers get here, it's on!

Do you need us to send you some daisy stickers in the next care package. If you like we could throw in some tulip and unicorn stickers as well and make sure there is enough to share with all the guys! But getting back to being serious, I am surprised the government allows you to modify the weapons they give you. Don't you have to return them when your contract is up? What do you do then, take off all the goodies you added or do they donated to the next soldier?

5card, the hubby wants to know if the hello kitty rifle shoots rainbows and butterflies. Now that would make for an interesting war!

Everything on my rifle is army issue. Thing is that it's difficult to hunt the stuff down, one of those "it's not what you know but who you know" things and I just happen to be good friends with the armorer :2cool:. So yeah i gotta return the gear when I leave this unit, but again, it's good to be friends with the armorer cause I do have some fancy stuff on my FN FAL at home now.

Just fine, AG. Thanks for asking. Sounds like you are well. And I know you are eagerly awaiting those daisy stickers. Think how easy it would be to spot your weapon if they were in a pile.

And Moorea--wouldn't it be nice if women started the wars? Rainbows and butterflies make good ammo I am thinking. With a few hearts thrown in for good measure.
