I'm a Five Pawns fanboy and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Will update my five pawns experience as I picked up a sampler pack today with 5 flavours.

I really really enjoy perpetual check and bowdens mate very complex flavours and not too strong for all day vaping. Not a fan of grandmaster / lucena / queenside.

I am a bit sad that they didnt have samplers sizes of gambit or castle long so I still need to get around trying those 2.

lol Kahlua
that you boiled some mushroom ramen noodles and durian in, sure

Oh! Black Flag Fallen -- hmmm -- once in a while I guess it's interesting. The espresso flavor is great and the truffle cream (the fungus not the candy) is also good, not entirely sure I like them together. at. the. same. time.. Ymmv.

I bought a bottle of Castle Long a few months back (my 1st time trying Five Pawn's).. I didn't really like it at all, the alcohol was too strong. It mellowed out a bit but I just don't like that alcohol taste I guess, if it didn't have the bourbon flavor I think I might enjoy it. For some reason I'd still like to try Castle Long Reserve, but I won't buy it.
I still have about 27mL left of that regular CL bottle left.

Tried Black Flag Fallen at a local vape shop - out of a Kayfun (which I've never vaped, I didn't like the tight drag) that was a bit gurgly, don't think it was set up right. I liked this one a little more, good expresso and chocolate truffle (wow!). Don't think I could vape a coffee flavor all day though, kind of a weird vape for me but the unique flavors blend with eachother and "fit'. I would definitely consider these liquids "gourmet".
:)
I'm not a huge fan of this juice. But I can see why people like them! It's definitely high quality stuff, the most unique flavors and artful blends I've seen. I can tell it's top notch, just doesn't fit my flavor profile. I don't think I could vape any of these flavors all day. I like higher VG usually though, also.
They should come out with a great vanilla custard or cake vape! :p
I'm surprised that you got chocolate truffle out of BBF as I am certain it's meant to be truffle of the fungi variety. Taste is truly subjective! ;-)

Yes, yes, yes! As stated earlier, I'm not a huge fan of complex blended flavours, where its difficult to establish the nuances and to taste a basic ingredient or to put your finger on one or two overarching flavours. If a company like Five Pawns applied their expertise, technique and obvious concern for quality to produce more simple vapes, I'd be all over them :)

Castle long has become my ADV for the past several months.
Tried some queeside ; nice strong flavor but just a bit more citrus than preferred.
Also tried Black Flag Fallen ; interesting, unique flavor, but as has been mentioned, not for everyone.

As an experiment I have been 'spiking' my usual Castle long with either of the other 2 flavors. About @ 20% of either ( never both )
BINGO ! ... adds a whole new element to CL. Very enjoyable. Try it for a tank !

OK, just two weeks ago, I posted in this thread and described my experience with both Castle Long and Gambit. At that time, neither really appealed to me. Yesterday, I tried Castle Long again and, surprize, surprize, I began to enjoy it  Maybe I'm just fickle? I'm sure that it had nothing to do with "steeping," as both liquids were produced back in Nov 2014 and were already aged for a couple of months before I got a hold of them. What I'm going to take away from this experience is that just because an e-liquid isn't to my liking at first blush, I may learn to enjoy it. So, in the future, I'll put away those kind of liquids and come back to them at a later date. BTW, the reverse has happened to me as well - liquids that I enjoyed right from the "get go" are less appealing further down the road.

Does anyone know if the 5P flavors specifically castle long, gambit, and lucena perform well in a low/sub ohm tank set up?

I actually went to the Five Pawns juice bar in Orange County and talked to them at length about their flavor profiles. Their take is that their flavors perform best in a Kayfun style atomizer at around 1.4 - 1.6 ohms. And they even rebuilt and filled my Kayfun for me. 30 gauge kanthal with a rayon wick.

That said, I've run their juices through my 0.6 ohm build on my dripped and found them to perform well. The flavor profile was definitely different, but still very good.

Form me, 5P juice is best on a variable wattage device. The flavor changes so much with different wattages that I really enjoy adjusting the power to suit my tastes.

I have one first bottle of Gambit on the way. The reviews are great and as far as price goes it has no effect on me as I throw loads of money away on junk juice. So what if it costs more, just watch the video on their lab and see the effort put into quality. They number lot numbers and they have excellent customer service from what I can tell. Food grade stainless steel vats, serialized bottle and drippers. Those who complain about the price all I can say is no one is putting a gun to your head to buy it.

If I pleased with Gambit I'll order more and add a bottle of Castle long.

been vaping five pawns.. vaped 30ml of queen side, then moved down to mixology samplers. queen side was amazingly refreshing with that blood orange. perpetual check was also great. i enjoyed perpetual check greatly.. maybe it's due to that i only had 4ml of it. need to get 30ml on that one. now moved on to lucena. it's not as good as other two i sampled so far, but not a bad vape. other 3 will be sampled as i finish what i'm having now.

I guess I am one of the few who wasn't happy with gambit. I make my own juices and have been trying to make a good apple pie for a while. I picked up a bottle of gambit made 3-1-15 at my local vape shop. Put in my subtank, I tried several settings but could not get the flavor I was looking for. To me it tasted like a apple caramel snickerdoodle. It took me months to get my custard the way I love it so I guess it's back to the drawing board on my Apple Pie.

Finally picked up my first two bottles of 5P the other day. Castle Long and Gambit, born on 9-14 and 10-14 respectively, so they've already had some time in the bottle. I shook the crap out of them and stuck them on the shelf in my closet.

They both smell wonderful. Didn't even open them and you can smell them.

I'm going to give them a while before I open them up and sample them....
