Really liked Gambit and Grandmaster. Thought for sure I would like Castle Long based on all the reviews, so I went ahead and bought a 30ml. Don't care for it, which makes me really sad

I really enjoyed Gambit, just received it last week and only have about 3mls left, it was yummy. Now Grandmaster I put into a dripper last night and err ... It wasn't bad, but all I taste is strong peanut butter. Its creamy, and banana carmelish for me .. so my question is does this flavor change with age? While the batch is marked November 2014, the seal was not broken until yesterday. I feel like juice does not start to steep until it is opened and has some air in the bottle.
Castle Long Reserve I didn't like .. it was very strong, and over bearing to me. I could see liking it more with a cocktail because it seems like the kind of juice that would pair well with alcohol
But I essentially left it to sit in a cabinet until it was almost black in color, then I threw it out. I never had Castle Long Mixology but I doubt I would like it any better.So glad I saw your post .. received Space Jam Venus, loved the first 3 or 4 tokes of it, then .. I wasn't liking it any more. All of the flavors are present, but the more I vaped it, the more the toasted marshmallow tasted like popcorn, so it got weird for me. So, I am thinking a nice week long steep is in order? Thoughts? How long do you steep Venus?

Being premade I've always enjoyed it right after getting the bottle, but I do think some extra steeping would help. The last bottle lasted me over a month since I drip it occasionally (can't afford to use it as an ADV!). I felt like after about 2-3 weeks it got a bit creamier and the peanut butter came out more for me, but I've never felt like it had a popcorn taste. In fact I just rewicked my RDA after reading your post and tried some out and I still can't make out any popcorn taste.
I'm still enjoying Venus more than Grandmaster. I'll still buy Grandmaster again, but Castle Long is kind of calling my name...
Rankings have been revised! Received my first bottle of Bowden's Mate and it is awesome! I've been vaping truckloads of Grandmaster and kind of burned myself out on it. Bowden's Mate is a nice change up. I still have some of everything on hand in my rankings list except Gambit and Queenside... stock of BFF and Lucena are getting perilously low.

5 Pawns does not change with age. It is presteeped and will taste the same on both the first day and on the 30th day.
Never tried Black Flag fallen But I can say I enjoy Gambit and Castle Long. I probably go through a bottle of each every three weeks or so. Five Pwans is overall pretty good stuff. Little pricey, but hey people like it. Makes them feel special
I adore Gambit. It's just delicious every time any time (Apple pie for breakfast? Sure! Don't mind if I do!) I also like Castle Long (regular - not an oak fan). I received a sample of Perpetual Check with my order and pretty good stuff. The only thing that holds me back from ordering a whole bottle is the (imo) odd barley note. I wish it weren't there because then it would be perfect (again imo). I would also jump on Sixty-Four if it truly had a "hint of dill" instead of smacking you in the face with it!
Oh! Black Flag Fallen -- hmmm -- once in a while I guess it's interesting. The espresso flavor is great and the truffle cream (the fungus not the candy) is also good, not entirely sure I like them together. at. the. same. time.. Ymmv.
I really enjoyed Gambit and my bf loves Grandmaster. I couldn't get past the banana in the Grandmaster though. I have found I don't much care of banana anything ejuice or otherwise. When we fist opened the Grandmaster I didn't really taste the banana but after a couple weeks it became more prominent. Gambit was actually the first ejuice I chose when replacing cigarettes with vaping only and I believe it helped me to mkae the transfer much more easily. Unfort its not in the budget for constant use but will be bought for a special treat. Five Pawns really have something awesome going on in their bottles! Lovely packaging too.
There's a fairly wide range of banana flavors that pop up in different vendors' juices. I really REALLY like the banana note in Five Pawns' Grandmaster. I also really dig the banana in Namber Juice's Caramelized Banana. ITCVapes banana flavoring ranges from "SLIGHTLY green" to "good ol' banana" and I dig both.
However, as much as I dig pretty much the entire range of Suicide Bunny e-liquids, the banana flavor in Derailed absolutely ruins that one. I mean, it's awful. Terrible. Can't vape it. UNDER that, is a pretty great cookie flavor though. Frustrating!

Got some black flag fallen.....and i think its absolutely horrible. Its borderline nauseating.

That's kind of a bad place to start with Five Pawns. It's a VERY "out there" e-liquid. I'm not gonna try to convince you that you'll
"eventually" like it. If you find it nauseating right now, it's just plain not for you.

I think BFF is an acquired taste. Sometimes it taste good to me but after a few more drips it's bad.
Like Zip mentioned, Gambit, Grandmaster are great. I would suggest you get their sample packs both of them and try it. I like them all except Absolute Pin.

I've only tried Five Pawns Castle Long (regular) and Gambit. Neither appealed to me. The flavour combinations were confusing to me and after some vaping actually became nauseating. Go figure. I've put them aside and will vape them again in the future. I find that my taste preferences change with time and what I didn't like at first blush, often becomes better when I go back to them. Unfortunately, in Canada we can only purchase 30ml bottles from this vendor; sample bottles are not available (at least none that I could discover). Ordering directly from the U.S. is hit and miss; we risk having our nic containing shipments confiscated by Canada Border Security Services, or stopped and returned to the vendor. As well, all Canadian distributors that I know off have a two 30ml bottle Castle Long Reserve minimum purchase policy; that gets kinda pricey when you don't know whether or not you'll like it.
But, I have to admit, like other folks in this thread have noted, the packaging and e-liquid presentation is absolutely flawless. When you open up one of these e-liquids you're left with the impression that this is something very special.

Yeah I think I hsould have picked up some gambit as well since it has so many rave reviews. I just figured since I love coffee so much I would enjoy BFF, but I guess its not the case. IMO if they just didnt put that truffle in there, it would have been pretty good. After vaping it a little more I can tell its the truffle that is making me gag. The coffee profile is actually pretty on point, considering there is a coffee bean floating in the bottle lol.
Personally I am not a fan of there juices, I like the packaging I think it's beautifully done but there are far better juices out there and no I am not complaining about the price...I don't mind shelling out some bread for some good juice it's just that most of the ones I have tried taste weird to me...I prefer Lazerous Vintage over Five Pawns but it's all subjective..My 2 cents anyways...
I bought a bottle of Castle Long a few months back (my 1st time trying Five Pawn's).. I didn't really like it at all, the alcohol was too strong. It mellowed out a bit but I just don't like that alcohol taste I guess, if it didn't have the bourbon flavor I think I might enjoy it. For some reason I'd still like to try Castle Long Reserve, but I won't buy it.
I still have about 27mL left of that regular CL bottle left.
Tried Black Flag Fallen at a local vape shop - out of a Kayfun (which I've never vaped, I didn't like the tight drag) that was a bit gurgly, don't think it was set up right. I liked this one a little more, good expresso and chocolate truffle (wow!). Don't think I could vape a coffee flavor all day though, kind of a weird vape for me but the unique flavors blend with eachother and "fit'. I would definitely consider these liquids "gourmet".
I'm not a huge fan of this juice. But I can see why people like them! It's definitely high quality stuff, the most unique flavors and artful blends I've seen. I can tell it's top notch, just doesn't fit my flavor profile. I don't think I could vape any of these flavors all day. I like higher VG usually though, also.
They should come out with a great vanilla custard or cake vape!
