thinking about buying thesafecig from www.thesafecig.com. im totally sold on this e-cig technology but these forums even the newbie section is overwhelming. sooo soooo much info out there. i just want a good product that will closest replicate an analog cig. i dont care about price within reason and i do not care about politics and i do not care about who owns these companies or how much they make/dont make. i just want to place an order, get it as quick as i can and have a quality product so i can kick the butts! anyone care to advise?

Well, I looked over that site. The e-cig looked a lot like the one that I started out with (and payed too much for). It depends on how much you smoke now.

I ended going with the eGo/Riva because I was a heavy smoker and the battery life was better.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

If you don't mind charging batteries often or don't smoke very much to begin with then you can go with the 510.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye 510

The money that you would save could go toward more juice, extra atomizers & carts, or cartomizers.

No. They are charging about double for a battery vs what a battery should cost. And you don't even now what brand it really is. All cigarette shape e-cigs are made by a handful of Chinese companies. Some are good models and some are not. Then rebranders take some model, put their own name on it, charge more, and sometimes even cripple the carts in some way to make them hard for the user to refill so they'll have to buy everything from them.

I searched on Google - safecig is an RN4081 so if you want that model just buy an RN4081 at probably 1/2 the cost
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rn-4081-super-mini/123660-safe-cig-rn4081-2.html

But I recommend you watch/read the following in the Sticky threads of New Members section here
1. Newbie videos
2. The thread with Library in its title - read the multipart guide. Most of the models it shows are popular (except the Blu which the author shows for sentimental reasons - many people end up replacing 1/2 of that with parts from another model)

If you are interested in a cartomizer model, also consider KR808D-1 instead which is sold just slightly higher as the Vapor King at Vapor4Life in many interesting colors. And be aware that automatic batteries can sometimes turn on by themselves from wind or vibration so many people recommend manual batteries which also give you a bit more control over your drag.

Bleh, SafeCig. I'm going to second dormouse and suggest you get a KR808D-1. The battery life is better than a standard 510 and you'll have plenty of places to buy reasonably priced hardware for it. I also second getting a manual battery. The automatics have a hole in the connection and if juice leaks in there it can ruin the battery.

i would also recommend the 808D-1. Its the model i'm using now and i'm very satisfied with it. a basic model with 2 manual batteries can be had for $30.

Kr808d-1 starter kit: kr808d-1 cartomizers, kr808d battery and more! Kr808d-1 kit from LiteCigUSA!

I started with the Safecig. Way over-priced for the kit and especially for the refills. Go with a 510 kit available from many different suppliers. I also suggest that you get the long life battery.
There are many other avenues as well. Read these forums and educate yourself. There is a lot of knowledge to be gained here.
I wish I had found this forum sooner. I would have saved a lot of money.
Another inexpensive starter to consider a Roughstack from Madvapes.

On my first purchase I tried to get one of those safe-cig kits, but they were always out of stock at the time.

I got a Smoketip instead. Similar product but with more flavors. Smoketip is based on the KR-808D-1 platform and they send you decent kit with good quality shorty auto batteries.

While they do charge you $60 bucks for a kit you can easily find for around $40.00 at other places, they are life-time guaranteed (batteries and chargers). Great Customer Service there...when your battery starts getting weak just email them with your customer ID and they'll ship another to you right away...seems like they might include a postage paid envelope to ship your old one back. Of course it helps if you continue to buy some of their cartos every once in a while :)

The carts they provide are priced similarly, and similar in quality to other places that do prefilled carts. Only complaint I had there was sometimes they do get low on stock of a flavor or strength I wanted to order. The flavors are ok...but nothing like dripping your own cartos with premium juices.

So...SmokeTip is a decent deal given they don't make you keep buying the little batteries as they go bad.

For the mini kits with prefilled cartos like that, there are several places that offer a much better deal than safe-cig in my opinion.

Having said all that...I still keep a flat of SmokeTip stuff in my golf bag and tackle box. So small, light, and easy to use hands free, BUT...I find that an eGo or Riva SE (a little higher voltage on the SE) kit with the long battery life (you can still use the pre-filled cartomizers with an adapter). Serves me better. I also like being able to choose more flavors and save a little money on e-liquid that way.

I am also going to suggest going with Dormouses opinion. I bought a greensmoke a month ago and moved to the KR8 model he/she suggests already. Best decision I ever made. I was also suprised at how light even the XL batteries I got are. They at least feel lighter than the long batter in my greensmoke (E9 battery i think). For reference i went with the vapor king from vapor 4 life. There are slightly cheeper KR8's but I went with them as they are only a couple hours from where i live so shipping times are good. I hope you find a device you like!
