I'd buy more than one device. Everything fails. And 4-6 batteries. And, I'd get a bottomfeeder.

SAve half yoru money for buying juice and $50 for a couple dozen cartos. There are a hundred different places to buy juice from.

Wanting to try something new is what this place is for.

Compared to some small cig size batteries, anything is a cool upgrade.

VV Grand price is expected to be right about $200, though that isn't official. The assumption is that it'll be about the same amount higher than a standard grand as the VV woodville is above a standard woodville.

VV grand should have excellent availability. Rob has multiple hundred due for first release, with another multi-hundred set fairly soon thereafter (material already being processed, I believe), and a further big lot behind that. They're also doing a server replacement, more horsepower. Between the qty of VV grands, and much better server hardware, getting a VV grand should be a smooth activity.

I agree with iowajosh, no matter which you go with have a backup. You don't want to get everything going just to find yourself smoking again due to some problem with your pv that you need to send it in. Even the best can have issues sometimes, so even if the backup is just some little cheap ego with a charger, you really need to have something.

Whatever your final decision is in this matter, stick with the vape. Stay off the analogs. Especially if you are going for an expensive mod. I'd rather have my $15 zippo as a paperweight than some $200+ mod. This is why I suggested earlier to hold off on the major investment of a big mod. Make extra sure that you are fine without cigarettes and will not go back to them. This is why it took me a year before I got the Pro. I went through the steps (with quality devices) of finding what liquid, carto, tank, etc. that I liked first. Once I came off the cigs and could stay off them, I went big. This also makes me appreciate the Pro for what it is and not treat it like a cheapo throw around toy.

If you are looking for a VV device and are not in a huge hurry to get it, you might consider purchasing from chinabuye.com
They do offer several different VV models and seem to be considerably less expensive than many of the other vendors out there. Personally, I use the Apollo VMax in stainless steel, and I do like it a lot - BUT the sucker is HEAVY and since it is so bulky, I only use it when I am at the house. Here are a few VV models that I found on chinabuye.com - prices are inclusive of shipping :

Ego-V6 750mAh 16340 Battery 4V-6V Voltage Adjustable E-cigarette E Cig General Flavor High Content - Silvery - Electronic Cigarette - Gadgets

Super Bomb 3-6V Voltage Adjustable 900mAh/1600mAh Capacity Battery New E-Cigarette High Content General Flavor - Electronic Cigarette - Gadgets

Ego-T LCD 900mAh Voltage Adjustable E-cigarette E Cig Battery for EGO Electronic Cigarette E Cig - Black - Electronic Cigarette - Gadgets

GS-SUB 2200mAh LCD Screen Single Stem 3V-6V Ajustable Voltage Metal Body E-cigarette E Cig General Flavor High Content - Blue - 14/7/2012 - New Arrival

More great info, I'm just taking my second run at vaping. Tried it a few years back, I own a prodigy V3 and aV2. Just couldn't co-ordinate the dripping, and being a novice I simply could not get consistent hits, ultimately I was right back on the analogs(I never really quit). This time around I'm a little better informed. I still have my prodigy's(damn near unused), and I purchased two joytech mega ego's. Several 3100 mAh 18650's and the new smoktech, dual atty cartomizers. That with a charger was roughly what I paid for one prodigy. One battery has yet to fail to get me thru a day,and I'm pounding it. I've never gotten the quantity of vapor I get now, it hits 100% of the time- these newer cartomizers are amazing imho. I put the analogs down 10 days ago and haven't looked back. Several others have said it in this thread, and I couldn't agree more.... Reliability is the key, if you can depend on the vaping setup you have your odds of sticking with it and only it improve radically. I'm no expert but it does seem there are a ton of choices, for me starting out though and without unlimited funds , two of my choices seemed to be 1.) a single very high quality, dependable but expensive device. 2.) multiple , serviceable less expensive and redundant devices.
Option 2 is how I'm starting out, that's just my own comfort level.
Doesn't mean there isn't still a provari with a genesis atty on my wish list and in my future! ;) good luck!

Ok I posted this in some other threads but it seems like it should be put here. I'm sure this topic has been done before but I'm new to forums, sorry. That said I have a super cheap element 510 throw away w clearmizer. It works ok for a hour then hits weak, and it leaks in my mouth sometimes not a fan. The leaking could be user err though. It only came with the one battery rather than invest more in this POS I'm going to get a new one. (I'll try wrap this up). Will the provari w phiniac xl tank, boge cart. Be a good set up for someone that doesn't want to worry about upgrading the pv, and lest amount of fuss ie filling leaking ect. Sorry for the long post really need to get this right the first time. Oh and that NLA juice that came w my cheap 510 tastes like a bums bum need advice on all day juce

If you are asking is a Provari and Good VVPV, yes it is. There are very few people, including myself, who have Bad things to say about it.

I won't try to sell you on what I think is best for you because I know Nothing about you. But I will say that if money is tight for you right now, there are similar VVPV that cost less and do work Very Well.

I just Noticed that you said that you had planned on spending about $450 on a setup and that you are Hard on things.

Then Yeah, I would go with a Provari because it is a Very Solid VVPV made out of Stainless Steel.

zoiDman hit the nail on the head here. The Provari vs. other VV mods debate is just like the iPhone vs. Android. "Mine is better because I own it. Everything else is garbage." I know folks that actually prefer a Vmax over a Provari. It's what you are comfortable with. Don't let anyone tell you that you MUST get a certain device. Save a little cash in your VVPV fund for when you have found the combination of juice, carto, atty, or whatever that is your go-to vape. Once you get locked into what satisfies your palette and body, step up to the mod. You will probably have the cash saved up by then and appreciate it much more.

Man...

Now you make me feel feel bad.

Because I just edited my post when I realized that the OP Was Hard on things and was planning on spending a dcouple of Hundred for a setup.

There are good VVPV's out there that do cost less than a Provari or a Darwin or a V2 or a (etc). But I'm not sure if Anyone would agree that something like a Lavatube will hold up to Hard Use.

But you are correct that there will be endless debate over "Mine is Better than Yours".

Didn't mean to step on your toes there.

I pretty rough on things as well due to my job and my recreational activities. Honestly, I take my eGo Twist and a couple of cheaper tanks with me on the job. If I break a $20-$25 battery I'm not too concerned. If I break a $200 device by dropping it into the water, I'd be pretty ticked off. I have multiple twist batteries for the job. Saved up and got a Pro as a reward to myself for being completely done with the stinkies. I just had to make darn certain that I wasn't going to go back to smoking.

No Toe Stepping. At least not mine.

I was just Ironic in that I had mentioned that there were Less Expensive Options. But as I was editing my post, you posted that I Hit the Nail on the Head. LOL

I still think a Provari would be a Good Choice for Anyone that is Hard on their Equipment. In that it is Stainless Steel and has only One Button.

But I have heard Very Good things about the eGo Twist. Not sure how well made it is because I don't have one. But I haven't read any reviews that said it was Flimsy either. The price seems Great too.

I have a Lavatube. It does about what the Provari does. Make Vapor at Different Voltage. But it is made out of Plastic. The Plastic End Cap has had to be Glue back on Twice. And Up Button is getting Wonky. So I would Never suggest it to someone who tells me they are Hard on things.

lately my best recommendation for new users who want good battery life and easy to use features is an eGo or any of its variants (recently leaning towards VV. eGo Twist 1000mAh) and Vision Clearomizers V3, it's a really good setup and feels almost as a proVape... ProVari wasn't for me so I'm not looking into mods anymore... not for now at least

My Vmax, (Lavatube clone), is made from stainless steel and I warrant that I could drive my SUV backward and forward over that sucker a dozen times and not damage it one whit! It is built like a tank, but as I stated in my earlier post, it is heavy and bulky and not something I want to cart around with me when I am out somewhere. However, a full Vmax kit, at Apollo, is likely less than half of what a full Provari kit would cost and they work exactly the same way. I think I got mine for $74 - shipped.

Hmmm I think most people would call a Vmax a Provari clone.

Does anyone know what the reo grand vv is going for? its going to be that or the provari I think. If I can even get a reo. I feel so guilty on the site while smoking cigarettes its rediculous

I went to a site, and it looks like they don't have it out on the market yet! Someone correct me if I'm wrong and please provide a link, as I'd like to look at it also. But here's a link to Reo Grand...

http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=8&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3

To All Day Nic....have you looked at the Darwin? It's a great box mod from what I hear.

The Darwin

and it's VV...well, actually, I think it's set so you can actually set the watts instead of volts.

Sorry, I'm not a 'box person myself' so I don't know all that much about box mods, but I'm a Provari owner...and IF I were a box person, I'd get either the Reo or probably the Darwin.

Nic, I think we understand.

My experience was that I didn't really enjoy vaping until I got my EGO-C kit. I bought a VV Twist with my kit - I can recommend it from my experience. I do use a Provari at home. MY problem with tobacco though was long drives in the car - so, I carry both Ego batteries and my VV in the car along with a ridiculous assortment of liquids (mostly DIY).

Speaking of which - Do you know about this site? VaporSearchUSA

They have a directory that I have used to find suppliers who have an actual store that you can visit in person. Great way to eliminate buying a sample e-liquid online that others may love but you find ....lacking. :2c:
