Not a dumb question. I'm new to diy too. Just keep asking questions so that you learn.
Nic is diluted in either PG or VG. It doesn't come undiluted.
You still need to order PG and VG to do your mixes.
Download this calculator and play with it for awhile and you will get an idea on how things work.

2. absolutely needed a juice calculator and I second the juice me up one, I use it...play with it for a while and you'll figure it out. It's easy to understand and simply plug in your desired flavors with your nic strength and pg/vg and desired nic level and it'll tell you the amounts to mix.
3. syringes to measure out with
4. bottles to mix in (unless you're impatient like me and i mix on the fly in my tank 90% of the time) with drip tips to fill tanks

this would be your bare necessity....but obviously there's more to diy if you really want to get into mixing batches and storing and yada yada
I got my start kit from diyflavorshack for $60 it comes with a generic toolbox to store your goodies in that a lock can be placed on to keep little ones out of and pretty much anything and everything you could ever need/want for diy and your choices of 6 flavors to start with

All very good suggestions and I don't need to add anything else to these suggestions. All I will add and emphasize is to start with the stickies at the top of the forum and read, read, read. Also read hoosiers blogs

Thanks for all the help I downloaded the calculator and it's fun so now I'm going to order supplies. Would it he better to buy a diy kit or just buy everything separately I found this kit online for 60$

And I didn't know if that's a good route to buy or if I should just buy everything seperate.

Nvm that's the same kit someone already suggested so I guess I'm off to order the kit

There are good things and bad things about kits, the good thing is that you'll get everything you'll need. The bad thing is that you'll also get some things you may not need. Most kits have syringes and pipettes, but if you're an old fart like me who's eyes aren't working as well as they used to, the markings on the pipettes are very difficult to read. So I wind up using syringes as they are much easier to read, and only use the pipettes to transfer liquids to a smaller container. Just be sure to put either some clear nail polish or clear packing tape over the markings so that they don't get rubbed off.

Wizard Labs is a great place to get your syringes. I have a collection of 1, 3, 5, and 10 ml luer lock syringes that I use along with several blunt tip needles. As for needles use a large gauge for thick fluids, and a smaller gauge for thin liquids.

I don't really like kits because you get a lot of what you need but also stuff you don't need and your stuck with what ever quality they decide to give you which is usually the cheapest. The best thing is to read what others are using and get what you need. It will usually be cheaper and you get better quality. My suggestion would be:

10 5 ml bottles (for test samples)
5 30ml bottles
3 1 ml syringes
3 3ml syringes
3 10ml syringes
1 50ml Graduated Cylinder
latex gloves

If your going to steep in hot water or a UC get the glass bottles (Glass is always better but more costly).

Other then your flavors, VG, PG and NIC this is really all you need to get started.

A good place to get this stuff all in one stop is myfreedomsmokes
