I'm considering returning my Provari If I can't be saved.

I'm happy to announce that I am an official owner of a Provari 2.5! (applause)
But.... I only vape with RDAs and I was cursed with these evil things called "mechanical mods" and I really really enjoy the vape that I get from them and I want that same feeling that I get with those on my Provari. I hate that I'm restricted on my voltage, but I'm willing to try more builds to make me love the Provari that I hate and I hate that I hate it because I want to love it, but I cant because I hate it... help me

what do you use?
what builds can you recommend?
I just want to love IT!

I run single coils on my patriots and igo's. 1.8-2.0 running at 4.8-5 volts. Not mech or sub ohm clouds but close and the flavor is outstanding. Lately I'm partial to twisted 32 gauge. Been contemplating getting some 34 gauge and twisting three to four strands of that.

I use 28G K and wrap 1.6 to 2 ohm dual micro coils on a original patriot RDA.
Organic cotton wick. Clouds of vapor.

What exactly do you love about mechs that you're trying to get the Provari to do?

I have a 1.3Ω coil on a Reomizer. For fun I put it on the ProVari. Weeeeee! Now I want something for the ProVari, but it has to be as easy as the RM2.

I can't add anything that hasn't already been said. But if you still end up hating the ProVari, put a WTT (want to trade) in the classifieds here and see if you can't trade it for a REO. Since you use dripping atomizers already, that's probably the direction you should have gone in the first place.

produces outstanding flavour and plenty of vapour.

What gauge kanthal do you use and how many wraps?

i use 0.28 mm (29 ga) Kanthal A-1, 12 wraps around a screwdriver with ca. 2 mm diameter.

You might be happier with a DNA mod, you can vape down to 0.5ohms and up to 30 watts on the new ones

I use 1.2 ohm, dual coil drippers on mine all the time. I also have a KFL with a 1.2 ohm setup. I set them around 4.1 V and let them rip. They are close to a mech in vape intensity, and they don't lose vapor as the battery wanes...

I've got a 2.5 ohm single microcoil in my Kayfun clone on a Provari right now and it's lovely. The young man at the vape store always tests the coils he builds for his customers--and he was pleasantly surprised. He even said the flavor was amazing and he decided to build one for himself. Requests for 2.0 and above are rare in this town, so it was "special"!

Just a follow up... I've decided to keep it... it reminds me of more pleasant vapes with less hassle of changing batteries and so on so forth.... plus it looks and feels to good to throw away

Good for you! You can go down to .8 on your ProVari so you can get a mechanical type build on a great device!
