Hi all, Just thought I would sign up and share my experience with you all.

I'm from the UK and have been an on/off smoker for about 13 years. I could never quite kick the habit despite going almost a year cold turkey once. Like many I saw a disposable e-cig (Gamucci I think) in a corner shop and decided to give it a whirl, and to my surprise I didn't smoke the whole day that it lasted. I proceeded to buy one of these each day instead of the normal packet of Lambert & Butlers.

Searching for a more financially viable vape I stumbled across e-lites which were supposedly going to give me the equivalent of 80 cigs for the price of £7.99. What a rip off. Each cartomiser lasted barely a day and the battery would only last a few hours at most before needing a 4 hour recharge. Needless to say I slipped back in to old habbits and started buying the smelly ones once more.

Then one day I was out and about in a local market and noticed a market stall selling e-cigarettes! I went to enquire and discovered the guy was selling a starter kit including an eGo type 650 mah battery and a CE4 clearomiser and charger for £15. I was a little scepitical after previous experience but coughed up the cash and also bought 10ml Hangsen liquid in Golden Virginia flavour for £3. The owner of the stall filled it up for me and showed me how it all worked and MY GOD!!! It is excellent! The taste was good, the battery lasted a whole day, the liquid lasted for 6 days. What a revelation. I haven't even thought about going for a real cigarette since that day and it's been 3 weeks now.

I just today bought an iClear 1.6 dual coil clearo from him for £5 and a Black Cherry juice and it's working even better than before.

All in all, after a rough start to vaping I am now fully satified that my health seems to be improving (no more coughing up unpleasant things in the shower) and I'm also noticing a difference in my wallet.

You've all probably heard this story a thousand times now but I felt like I needed to tell it

Cheers!

Hi and Welcome!

SO Glad you found the forum here. Prepare to have your mind blown on the variety of devices available to vapers. If you are like most of us on the way to quitting the analogs you will find a new hobby in vaping.

Pull up a chair and enjoy the ride!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yes I can already see myself on the slippery slope of buying new toys with the spare money I now have haha. I have promised myself to stick with what's working for me for as long as possible until the urge becomes to much though

I think one of the best things is the flavour choice, and I'm also enjoying slipping a couple of drops of Menthol in, I find it especially nice in the mornings!

I am with you on the menthol in the mornings. I use a menthol juice as my wake up vape :) It is one of those times the old habits kick me hard so 10 minutes with the menthol takes care of that morning cig danger point for me.

You will find your own workarounds for those troubling habits. I find it is the habits that go with smoking that are the hardest sometimes. Don't accidentally light your Pv now. ;)

Elsewhere in this forum, you will see tons of post that will advise you to buy this device or that one. They will point to some very pretty and expensive items. To be fair, many of these items are worth it.
Just remember that the most important step up in equipment has already been made. When you moved from a cig-alike to an eGo, you found equipment that truly works and is capable of keeping you off cigarettes.
Where you go from here is up to you.
Welcome and congratulations.

Miguel -

I'd wager that most of us LIVED that story! I know I was nodding along through it, wondering why I'd bothered with some of the "e-cigs" that are available commercially. The key is to start and then (hopefully) you run into someone along the line that can show you what you've been missing!

Keep it up...I've been analog free for over a year now and the ONE that I tried after a couple of weeks let me know I'd never go back!

Well my resolve didn't last very long did it!

Was buying some new juice at the market stall today and saw something shiny. The new iTaste VV V 3.0, the one with variable voltage and wattage that is still reasonably small. I don't know if it was a good deal but i paid 51 quid for the battery, an iClear 16, a spare head, 2 X 10ml of RY4 and 1 X 10ml of a Hangsen Benson & Hedges liquid.

Just got home and fired it up and I have to say it's really very good. The vape feels much more consistent that the generic eGo 650 batter I had been using and I think I have found my sweet spot on the wattage front. Going at 7.5 Watts with the RY4 at the moment and it tastes delicious and warm with a nice throat hit.

I love it! Anyone else got one?

Hi Miguel, welcome to the forum and congratulations on making the switch.

How is that Golden Virginia e-liquid compared to the real thing?

Hey, to be honest, I liked it for the first few weeks but I now find it sickly sweet so have stopped buying it. It really doesn't taste anything like tobacco. It does however taste good with a few drops of Cherry or Menthol.

It is fairly common for new vapers to switch juices a few weeks in.

I started on dekang nport which is a menthol tobacco. I loved the stuff.

I went to 2 different vape shops here and sampled vapor until I was dizzy. None of them tasted good at all. I could not imagine vaping fruit flavors or dessert flavors at all.

Fast forward a few months, I'm loving cherry blossom tea and mango.

I hear it has something to do with the reactivation of taste buds.

Yeah I have noticed my taste buds are all over the place during the last few weeks. I suppose that's due to quitting the awfull cigarettes and also I have been using a few different clearomisers to find one that is reliable.

This new iTaste V3 is fantastic though, if only I had gone for something like this from the very start! Looking forward to getting some new flavours to try out in a couple of weeks now :toast:
