Advice please from an established user

I have only joined the forum in the last hour as it seems to offer all the advice I am looking for. An aquaintance recommended the web site 'Totally Wicked.com' but I have looked at this site and am confused. I smoke 15-18 Lambert & Butler cigarettes a day but want to swap to e-cigarettes-are there any forum members who could recommend where to start. What brand and size of E-Cigarette should I go for and how much should I expect to spend on A) A starter kit and B) Ongoing costs?
Thanks in advance to every forum member who replies.

Hi icla and welcome to ecf
I am not an established user so i won`t offer any advice on specific kits, there are plenty on here who will, what i will say is take a look at all the kits and websites that people are gonna point you towards, but in the end it`s gonna be your decision,
my only advice would be to think carefully about battery size, the higher the mah rating the longer between charges, A rough guide is they will last about as long as the mah rating (250mah=2.5hrs, 650mah=6.5hrs) but this is only a rough guide.
Everything else can be tailored to a decent set of batteries, The most popular seem to be the Ego/Kgo/Riva type,

Hope this helps (but i doubt it will)

Welcome!

Once you have five posts you can post in other forums, there's one for folks in the UK and you'll find more location-specific suggestions there I imagine.
There's a TON of information here, it can be overwhelming at first but just do lots of reading to get an idea for what might work for you. Once you've settled on a PV and juices you like, it will be cheaper than smoking cigs (unless you're one to go crazy with mods and buying bigger/better/newer PVs.) :)

Welcome to ECF..!!!
Some good starting information given thus far. One thing to keep in mind, everyone is unique and different in thier habits, tastes, and tolerances. This is really a journey and your journey will more than likely be different from others.
I can tell you that I started with an eGo T starter kit. I liked it and discovered this could keep me from analogs. I experiemented with different cartos/attys and batteries. I later discovered I needed something more than what I could achieve with my starter kit. I then added a modified PV to the mix. Today I use them all; the mod and my starter eGo's.

There is a fountain of information here on ECF. Do some reading - take what you need from here and leave the rest for another day.
Good Luck on your journey..!!

The most popular seem to be the Ego/Kgo/Riva type

Pretty good advice but I just wanted to mention, these are all Ego type batteries, which is the most recommended thing to start with on these forums. Ego is both a name brand and a type of battery, as they were the originator of those types of batteries. They don't make as good of batteries as some of the newer ones put out by their competition, namely the Riva, Kgo and the E-power. They all perform about the same, only difference is if you want to buy a sealed disposable that costs $18 to replace once it stops holding a charge(the Kgo and Riva) or a device that will last you a long time, possibly a lifetime, and uses generic batteries that you should be able to pick up for around $4(the E-power). Current best price on an e-power kit is at sweet-vapes, here's a link:

14650 Black Carto Kit

If you'd rather the more expensive in the long run, but very slightly less complicated Kgo then here's the best price:

SLB KGO Starter Kit

As for ongoing cost, that will depend on how much liquid you use, and nobody can really answer that reliably for you, but the answer is much, much less than smoking.
