Can anyone give me some dates on vaping. It was invented in China when? About when did it hit the US market? Does anyone know the numbers of vapers there are world wide, and in the US?

I'm just curious because up until about three weeks ago I never knew such an animal existed. With tobacco products banned from so many forms of advertising it stands to reason that vaping, with it's use of nicotine, has few options for advertising as well.

I'm thinking of how many people out there that would be soooo happy to know there was a better way (IMHO) to get off analogs than medications, patches, and gums, all of which DID NOT work for me. I've been vaping for less than 2 weeks and already I am hating the taste and smell of my analogs, and I've smoked for 30 years. (So, as our Canadian friend, in another thread was told...get the good word out there to interested people when they ask what you are doing with that funny looking cigarette. It seems there is no other way to save people's lives than just word of mouth??? )
Hope someone can quench my curiosity.

There are many ways of letting others know about vaping. You don't have to advertise it at all, but you being that one more person in public with an electronic cigarette will draw attention, curiosity and will re-ensure yourself that it is the norm or from this recent year of the e-cigarette bloom, has become the norm.

Look forward to the future. Instead of seeing people blow the reeking smoke, you'll see them blowing plumes of vapor. Electronic cigarettes will become the normal and those old chemical filled tobacco cigarettes will only become a thing of the past.

Vape on!

Lately I have been thinking and trying to come up with a way that each vaper could run a small classified add in their local paper. Just a few words,"e-cigs saved my life" and maybe their name or someting short and not too costly. Just something to catch peoples' curiosity and start them asking questions. Maybe a reference to the CASAA website or ECF.

My only fear is that it might steer people to Blu or something else that is highly advertised but not so practical.

Maybe,"ECF saved my life - www.e-cigarette-forum.com".

If all vapers did this once a month or every 2 months, all over the world, how fast would that speed spreading the word. If it could be coordinated that would be incredible! (impossible, but incredible).

Now, let's hear some more ideas!

X P3: I wouldn't worry too much about people starting out with the "blu" brand e-cig.
That is what I started out with (all of 1 1/2 weeks ago!, LOL) and it was good in that it got my foot in the door to the world of vaping. I've already moved on and have ordered my KGO. I'd say any e-cig is better than an analog, and if a person does any research after buying that little mini, they will learn there are bigger and better ones out there to choose from.

Retriever: Thanks for the link to the history of / and guide to vaping. I'm going to go read it now.

Thank You for not misconstruing what I meant. Blu works for many people and that's all they need. That's Great! For others it's a step in the right direction, or as you say, "foot in the door"!

Blu certainly offers the convenience that we were used to with smoking. Put your money down and walk away with something that is ready to use.

I love ur avatar!! (the retriever) And the snow!!! Wow my dog would be sooo happy to be there..... <<<

(I still don't know how to do the little blue window of someone's quote...grrrrr)

Just wanted to add to what tcss said, your Golden (retriever) is beautiful. I've always loved Goldens!:hubba:

I've got a water retriever too;. . . my Standard Poodle. For those that don't know, the "STANDARD" Poodle, is a large dog averaging around 40-55 pounds, and originated in Germany and is used to retrieve fowl in water. The "clip" (which seems silly to most) was actually to remove hair so the dog could swim better, yet leave it on certain joints, over the kidneys, and around the chest to keep those areas warm from the chilling effects of the water. The tail "pom" was left to easily see the dog running through the field. The French fell in love with the Poodle and adopted it as their own, breeding it down it to it's more recognizable size of mini and toy. Poodle in German is spelled something like Pudel (or that's close) and means "puddle", as these dogs love the water. My Standard Poodle swims everyday in summer in our pool. The Poodle comes in second place in doggie intelligence of all the "breed" dogs (mutts can be smart too), falling behind the Border Collie. Okay, doggie lesson over.

LOL Sorry for rambling, but I LOVE MY DOG!!!

TY. I'm trying it out right now to see if I did it right.

I've noticed a lot of pets as Avatars, so I guess you are right...pets ARE popular on ECF. Nice, shows that there are lots of carring people on this forum. If ya love animals you can't be all bad. LOL

Anyone else have more info on the stats of e-cig use in USA and other countries? I cannot understand how I missed knowing about these wonderful little devices until now. How did you learn about e-cigs? From other users?

This is who actually invented it ... who invented the electronic cigarette | Vapers Gazette

However, it was actually in production due to Chinese pharmacist Hon Lik in 2003 who based the design off of Mr. Gilbert's design. Mr. Lik introduced it to the market in 2004 through the company he worked for..Ruyan. In 2005, it was being shipped worldwide with 2006 adding more countries. It was introduced in the US in 2006 but very limited on what you could get.

Information travels slowly to this neck of the woods. Didn't find out about these until January this year and it was via one of those nasty radio ads- you know, the "BUY BUY BUY NOW!" type. That led me to Google and eventually here.

There is a lot of information to take on board- but that's why this Board (pun intended!) is here to provide information and support. When people say "Please ask" around here, thet really mean it!

Love to All
