I've been using a Lavatube with a tank and carto set up for almost 3 months without problems. This past week though has been holy hell trying to get a carto to work. I have tossed out 4 cartos from 2 different vendors JUST TODAY(previously this week tossing out 1/day at least) and want to toss the 5th one that's currently on there. Prior to this I was getting about 10 days out of the same cartos. I haven't changed my juices either. They feel flooded all the time and very hard to draw on. I'll blow them out some and then they're burnt. I won't fill them up as much, burnt. Fill them up a little more, flooded. I've changed batteries, tanks and lavatubes(have 2), no difference. I've tapped the hole with a hammer and nail to make it larger, cleaned connections and still nothing. Some of the cartos are from Volcano, some are from MadVapes. No difference with either one. I've been fiddling around with these cartos for 6 hours today and haven't had but one or two decent vapes all day.

Can anyone help before I end up so frustrated I pitch all of it into the trash?

I put about 20 drops into the carto and then fill the tank and then I'm ready to go! May want to blow on the carto when in contact with the juice in the tank! This was a tip I got this week! Also maybe start vaping at a lower voltage to break in the carto! Anyway, it may be you just got a lot of duds! Hope not but it sounds like you have not had allot of issues in the past?

Stutter much lol?

How high is the voltage set? I found that if the voltage goes too high with filler that may not be soake, the "sock" gets holes burnt in it, then leakage occurs. Any damage to the tube that surrounds the coil(s) and your carto isn't tank-able.

Good news is that you can still use the carto. Cut the flat end of a carto condom off, so you have a silicone tube, then slide the tube over the punched/drilled/slotted hole. Vape on! All's not lost.

I have a buddy in a different forum that has been having similar issues with the Volcano cartos. He had been a great experience with the DC tank until recently when nothing seemed to be working right flooding, burnt, leaking just as you described.

You could try a different carto. The cartos Volcano sells are the same smoke tech one's that mad vapes sell. Electronicstixs.com has the new longer Boge Xls that will fit the DC tanks I am sure there are other sites that have them but they are the only ones I found that state they fit DC tanks.

I've found that that will leak. Probably depends on the thickness of the juice, but the carto-condom just isn't a tight enough fit on the carto to stop juice from leaking out of the punched hole. If you wrap a rubber-band around it, it will seal, but it doesn't look very good.

But, I do agree: OP, plug the hole and use them as standard cartos before considering quitting vaping. You'll work out the tank thing in the meantime, but don't go back to smoking when there's an easy solution: stop using the tank for a bit.

I didn't know they were the same. I have to fuss a bit more to get the MV cartos in the tank vs. the Volcano

No chance of going back to smoking. I've just been using my REO instead(and I have tons of cartos that work on it just fine.) The REO is a good vape and I enjoy it greatly. But I really enjoy the change that vv brings to the table. Of course, there will be a vv REO before too long and I could save my pennies for that and give up on these tanks. Hmm.....that's something to consider now that the tanks are giving me such fits lately.

I did finally get one working somewhat today, but it was just a frustrating day going through 5-6 carts trying to get one to perform as it should. I could accept the frustration more if I was brand new at it and it was just a learning curve type thing, But I've been using these cartos for almost 3 months without issue, until recently.

I recommend the Clouds Of Vapor "Carto Punch". It's $40, but if you need to consistently punch cartos, it's worth it.
I count the number of turns (or 1/2 or 1/4 turns) I need to get a certain diameter punch hole and know that I can reproduce it at will.

Once you figure out exactly what size hole you want and how far down you need to drive the punch screw, you can put washers on it (I'm going to get mine from Home Depot) so that you don't even have to count.

Also, make sure you are getting genuine Boge cartomizers. Some vendors might be selling knock-offs and not even know it. I stick with the fairly well known vendors for my cartos.

I haven't tried a tank carto yet, but I do have a Vision Grande from GotVapes, and its my favorite tank to date. Its been on my PV for a week now almost exclusively, and is just now starting to have some slight issues. time for cleaning, and I need to buy a few more. They are $10 bucks a pop. Mine seems to leak when I turn it sideways, but I can leave it upright, and its fine. Other say that they dont all do that. Before that, I used cartos by themselves, and just kept 3 full ones with me all the time...
