I'm in a smaller crowd now

So it occured to me today while driving around with my silver bullet (not that I just drive around with my siver bullet, that would be too cool for me) that I belong to an even smaller niche now. I mean realisitically in the last year I've seen maybe two vapers out in the wild. They were both puffing on some gas station brand e-cig. I've never seen anyone in the wild with a mod. Not even an eGo. Which means I must look like some sort of crack addict or someone who enjoys very tiny scuba tanks.

Have you ever seen anyone in the wild with a mod? Aside from some sort of vaper meetup.

Random stranger, no. I have met a couple of vapers that spotted my PV on my desk when they came in to my office and announced themselves as vapers (maybe we need a code or secret handshake?) Now there are eight of us in the office that vape so thats nice.

lol, funny you post this, I saw my first vaper out in the wild, I actually saw him smoking in the passenger seat of a car right next to me. He had a joye ego looking device. It was vaping good whatever it was.

Once. I met a up with a guitarist the last time I tried to get a band started. We were both surprised to learn the other vaped an e-cig.

There is a lady in my home town who has been selling small form factor e-cigs for a long time, so I see the occasional 510. - I've turned a few people on to vaping and directed them to my favorite vendors, so I probably know seven or eight mod users... Other than that, I've only seen one other mod user "in the wild" and that was just recently in traffic. A fellow next to me at a stop light was vaping a tube mod that I'm almost certain was a provari.

I do expect to see at least two others eventually, though. I've talked to two other vapers here on ECF who live in or very near my home town.

I haven't seen anybody around me vaping when I'm out and about. but I do get funny looks from the smokers that gather outside of stores I always take a couple puffs in front of them so they can wonder what I'm doing I must look insane with a provari w/tank mod on it.

There is one young Squid that I have been speaking to lately at the smoking area and he came out on Friday and had an Imperial 510 threaded E-Cig with him and he was just thrilled to death with it. I will convert him to a better e-cig though eventually, he has already stated he wants a set up like my Provari with the Stainless Steel Tank on it

Its been over a year now since I started vaping and I still haven't to run into another vaporer other than the ones I've converted. I do find that the looks on peoples faces have gotten a bit different since I've been taking out in public my purple Buzz with a liqunator attached to it

I only have a couple of co-workers that vape, and a couple of other friends (one of whom does Youtube reviews I found out). With the exception of the reviewer, most I know use sticks or eGos. It actually makes sense from a mathematical standpoint. e-cigarettes are a tiny fraction compared to the number of smokers. Most consumers of e-cigarettes will be using the stuff that's either available or heavily marketed (ergo, traditional stick style kits). Mods are an even tinier fraction of the e-cigarette market, so the odds of seeing a mod user among the millions of smokers out there is pretty slim. At this point in the industry it is almost like a club of some kind

I went to skills test for a job a couple months ago, and this is where I had my one and only wild mod user sighting. I was standing in line to get in when a guy broke free of the line and walked a short distance away. His back was to me so I assumed he was smoking until he turned and I saw he had a SB. The guy behind me said something along the lines of "what is that guy doing? smoking crack?" to which I told him it was an electric cigarette.....then went and stood beside the SB user to vape my reo, you know...to sorta lend support. Didn't get a lot of time to talk shop with they guy as the line started moving, but it was comforting to finally see someone else using a mod in public. Also, I always assumed that people thought vaping looked like drug use, as some of my friends where quick to point out, but some how it was liberating actually hearing a stranger confirming what I already assumed people thought when they see a mod user.

I only know 4 other people that vape. One of them got me started and I converted 2 of the others (my roommate and another friend). The other person was converted by the person that got me into this. My roommate and friend that vape (the ones I converted) are both into it and have mods while the other two still use Volcano 510s with pre-filled carts.

Our friends that don't vape just look at the 3 of us like we're crazy when we start talking about this stuff.

We also have several friends (some are smokers) that love trying the new flavors that we get.
