I've found that I never approach people. I never have to, I just break out my pv and start vaping and end up with people coming to me. At that point I just tell them what it is and what flavor I'm vaping at the time (the last time this happened it was caramel macchiato). They'll start asking questions and get intrigued. Then I'll find a pen and paper and point them to some of my fav vendors as well as give them some buying tips based on my experience.

I quit smoking analogs on Aug. 7, 2010 (one year anniversary coming up!) and started out with a stick battery, moved up to a Riva, collected an Ali'i and most recently adopted a Chuck. I use the stick batteries for work because I like their small size and I save my mods as a treat at home. Everyone looks at vaping differently and uses what they feel comfortable with. I agree that the best times I've had getting to introduce smokers to the e-cig is when I just went out and vaped away until they couldn't stand it anymore and asked about it. Because they got interested from watching me, I know a few co-workers who went out and bought one of their own and they in turn stopped smoking and would tell others about it. No matter what it looks like, just getting e-cigs recognition is awesome because I know that there is no way I could be celebrating one year smoke free if I hadn't had all the options available. :)

yea it didnt go quite like that Darrigaaz. You make it sound like I walked over and told them their e cigs sucked. They immediately started in on the crack pipe comments and how they have been using an njoy for a week and they are the best ones out there. I tried to give one guy an ecf card when he started asking about what was in the juice.

I walked over hoping to chill with some people that share a habit of mine. I guess its natural to think that vapers will get a long because most people on ecf are friendly.

I guess people on the ecf are on here because we all share the same interests regarding vaping. That's why everyone here is so friendly, because we all understand one another. People like those you tried to chill with at that gas station probably don't share that same amount of interest and may switch back to smoking in no time. Or, they may get more interested in it later on as they vape more and more. They can't understand until they research it for themselves and see what's what. People like my brother, as mentioned earlier in this post, don't make any sense whatsoever. He will complain about his battery dying or his juice costing too much, but he won't even TRY to listen to the advice or info that I give because he's afraid of getting too hooked on something that he otherwise would not have been attached to had I not introduced him. I understand that part, but it's pretty dumb when he starts bumming my juice and asks to have one of my riva 510 batteries because his won't last long enough. Maybe when I go back to skool, if he cares about getting his vape as much as I do, he will spend his own cash on a better vaporizer and on liquids. These people that you conversed with will probably do the exact same thing, or quit because they don't want to get into it. Some people have different preferences. Some of them will say and do things that don't make any sense whatsoever, some will just go neutral and do their own things, some will decide they don't want anything to do with any of it after awhile, some will be complete ***** because it's something they've never seen and know nothing about, etc. I guess it's just human nature

They immediately started in on the crack pipe comments.

Well, some pvs do look like crack pipes. That's why I never vape my clear cartomizers in public. Although I don't really look like a crack addict. I mean, how many crack addicts have you ever seen who wear RL polo shirts? :2cool:

Can't agree more with that. Many buy analogs look-alike for the cool factor more than the benefits e cigs offer.

Alot of people are just really hung up on the e-cig looking like an analogue> I have to admit when I first started vaping (nJoy nPro) I never would have thought it would become my hobby or that I would be able to be content with a larger PV. Give them some time. I too have been seeing ecigs around alot more lately which is crazy because just a year ago I had to go on a wild goose chase to find one around here. Only the 7-11 like 10 miles from my house carried them, now they have them at the gas station right on my street, Not that I will ever pay 19.99 for a 5 pack of cartomizers again but cool just to know it's catching on.

A year ago, while at my Wifey's BIL's house for 4th of July party, I was vapin my Riva w/Carto. At that time I wasn't completely off tobacco ciggs. BIL laughed at my Riva, informing me that he had the better e-cig, and his looked like an analogue. Fast forward 6 months, I got my ProVari. Since getting it, I'm off analogues completely for 6 months. BIL heard about this from Wifey's sister. She called my Wifey asking for information about whatever e-cig I was using that I was actually able to quit smoking any analogues with. I happily sent her an email with links to ProVari, & e-cig forum. Told them that I wasn't able to quit using the little batts either. I suppose many have quit by using the "look alikes", but, I couldn't. And undoubtedly, there's many other PV's out there that work. JMHO

Cheers,

I am on Indian land
What really ticks me off are the ones who not only haven't been doing it for 2 whole months like I have, which is bad enough, but they're walking around with e-cigarettes that don't have any light-up jewel at all!

I mean, everybody understands if they're males who are still working on security issues.

That's why they make some without jewels. It's how the industry gives back, shows compassion.

But other people doing it, well, that's just not a cute look.

The other day I saw some guy with one that looked like it wasn't even a KR808d-1!

I was so upset, I had to double-facepalm right there in the middle of the CVS.

A few local gas stations finally started carrying e cigs (njoy). So I have been seeing a lot more vapors around. I ran into some a gas station that has a little chicken joint in it. They were all puffing away on their njoys. I thought this was great so I went over to have a conversation and pulled out a reo grand.

It was immediately apparent they had never seen a PV other than their minis. They dug in on how much it looked like drug paraphernalia and ridiculous I had to press a button. Njoys are the best e cigs etc. There was this smugness about them generally reserved for wine enthusiast. I have encountered a few new vapers with a similar experience.

I pulled out some ECF cards but no takers.

It's just odd how they can become such snobs about a (inferior) product they really know nothing about in a short period of time.

O well I will keep puffing on my e cig all day and they will keep charging theirs and buying carts day in and day out.

You sure take all this really seriously. IMHO anyone who is getting upset about anything concerning vaping might be subconsciously working there way back to smoking. The mind is a tricky thing.

Just remember different strokes for different folks. We didn't all smoke the same brand of cigs. Many who are new to PVs like the look a likes because it's familiar to them. Some will stay with that type of PV for a very long time because it's what worked for them others need bigger better. For people that are new to PVs congratulate them on getting off the analogs and let them know that there are other options available if they find what they are using doesn't quite cut it. Then point them to ECF where they can ask questions.

You know my wife ran into the same problem at the Pump & Pack. The gal at the checkout was complaining about paying so much for carts, my wife tried to explain to her you can recharge those with E- juice. She was like " nuh- uh" and wanted to argue about it, my wife was like:facepalm:.
So' ya ignorance is not bliss for this know it all.
Next time maybe your wife should take some eliquid and show her how it's done!

I started vaping with a mini-mart N Joy, and I was happy to recommend it to others at the time, but I wish someone had told me about better PVs before I got it. I paid as much for a single N Joy battery/atomizer as I did for an entire 510 starter kit, and I won't even mention the cost of the pre-filled carts, let alone the inferior vaping experience and wretched battery life.

What irks me about the mini-mart/mall kiosk PVs is the false advertising. They say that a single cart is like a pack of cigarettes, and that's not just misleading - it's a flat-out lie. I think that smoking is actually cheaper than vaping with pre-filled carts.

... the counter lady just new it all, but had no idea who she was talking to.

Oh, god, NEVER argue with people like that. Right now she's telling someone that "some dumb-... was in here the other day saying that she could refill carts, ha ha ha!" She will never always think that she came out on top, despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary.
