I'm kind of afraid of direct dripping... Help? O.o

Seriously. This for some reason is really scary to me. Derp.

I've got two attys? atties? sitting in front of me, one SR and one LR. Plus, a really pretty green driptip.

IT JUST TASTES BAD. And not like the atomizer fluid bad. Like, I think I'm stupid and doing this wrong bad.

The juice is supposed to go on the mesh bridge thingy, right? No more than 3 drops which is supposed to somehow equal 10 drags?

I know I like the juice so it's not that. Did I stupidly miss something? Am I going to break my new Ego? I don't want to :(

I've read a bunch of stuff on this, thought I was doing it right- but I guess I'm not? Did I miss something really important somehow?

I just want to be like all the other cool kids on ECF drippin on dem atties on a big ol non-cigarette lookin PV!

Thanks for the help in advance!

It could mean a bunch of things. What LR and SR atty are you using? Most attys need to be primed. Basically sit the atty with the threads down on a paper towel and drip....oh around 10 to 15 drops of juice directly into the atty. Let that sit for a min. or so, and then try vaping it. If it still tastes bad, try around 2-3 drops more. You should get great taste, vapor, and TH after that. If you are still not getting that, you may just have a bad atty. At least do this for starters...

Okay, so I have 50/50 juice. I waited as long as I usually wait with cartomizers... So like 5-7 minutes. About how long it takes me to check my facebook. I attempted to blow the primer out. Some stuff came out of one, but I'm not sure if it was primer or spit. I'm kinda gross when I just wake up o_O;; It's a sealed end battery. But, I do manage to break *everything* so I dunno if my fear is totally unrational.

Watching the video right after i type this up. Thanks!

And the atties I have are...

510 Atomizer 1.7 ohm -matte black

510 Atomizer 2.5 ohm -matte black

It takes a while before a new atty tastes right. And new attys do have primer on them - you need to * blow that out, prime with liquid, vape that mostly off without inhaling, repeat from * until it tastes OK. Or alternately you can blow and rinse the atty, shake/blow it dryish, prime and vape.

Awesome! Gonna try doing *all* of that. Heh.

Y'all are so smart! :3

GOT IT! MWHAHAHA

So, I completed cleaned them with one of those rubber hose-giant syringe things then tossed 'em in the over an 210 F for a few minutes. Put the eliquid I wanted on and waited for a bit... And now it's pretty dang good! I'm not great at it yet... But I'm going to keep trying it until I do! Plus, it keeps my hands busy so don't do weird things all the time o_O

Glad you're getting it down. Dripping's arguably the best way to get the most flavor out of a juice. It's my favorite way to vape at home, and like you said, it does keep your hands busy :2cool:

Hi xoZoe,

I can so relate to this post of yours. You very succinctly put what I was feeling into words. :)

My first few attempts at dripping got me to thinking that I needed somebody with me in person to show me what I was doing wrong. I'm still wishing for that scenario. Anybody in the Chicago area want to mentor me on atty use?

But I tried it again this morning and the "maple french toast" I'm testing actually tasted like the name. Was this success after all? Maybe the atty soaked up the juice I tested yesterday, and is now ready. IDK, but will keep practicing til I get a better feel for how to use these.

Hopefully one day soon we'll both be like the other cool kids on ECF and be pros at "dripping".

I ditched the cartos after about two weeks of dripping, because I like to switch flavors so much :D

Keep at it, once you get your atty seasoned right, it's all bliss from there!

Don't worry about changing over juice flavors, once you've vaped through the majority of the juice on the atty the flavor will fade out, even though you're still getting vapor. That's when its time for another three drops, and flavor will follow!!

And really, this is nearly the most foolproof method out there. You'll KNOW when you're out of juice on the atty, in plenty of time to drip in some more. If you flood it....no biggie! Just unscrew it and wipe your connectors down with a paper towel!

Also, I've taken to carrying a little half a paper towel with me, just in case. Sometimes a drop or two will escape, and it's great not to have to worry about what to do with it. Other than that, this is the best method out there!!

If you have any questions at all, even really silly ones, please ask, I'd be happy to answer, as I'm sure countless others here would be too!
