Hi all

I recently purchases 2 510 joye starter kits and some accessories and ejuice for me and my boyfriend. I rec'd my starter kit on New Year's Eve and started vaping since then, so it has not been a week since i started. I am currently still using my analog, but not as much as i did before. I use to smoke about a pack or more a day. Now i'm smoking about 2-4 cigs a day.

After i started vaping I always feel like there is something stuck in my throat. I have to keep trying to swallow my saliva but it's seems like it's still stuck there. It doens't really bother me a great deal. I have no trouble eating, swallowing, drinking, and speaking. I notice when i'm not vaping for awhile it feels better. Also i been getting a very dry mouth ever since i started vaping, this doesn't really bother me as much, I been drinking alot of water to make it feel better. Anyone else have these symptons? and do they go away? Is there anything i can do to get rid of it? I'm just afraid it might get worst and I really kinda like vaping even though it doesn't satify me as much as analogs do so far. Especially that first drag you need to take in the morning. When i use EC it's just feel like i'm smoking air, no throat hit or nothing. I have to take a real cig every morning. After that first cig i'm usually ok and i can just vap.

Yeah, Pandatera, You are discribing me exactly. That first smoke in the morning was real hard to get rid of. :(No trouble now though. Take your time and it will happen for you too!!:) The dry mouth was me also. Everyone on here kept telling me to drink more water and I kept thinking that "I already am". That is what it takes and after a while when you get used to vaping it won't be as bad. :2cool: You are off on a great adventure to the smoke free world. Take your time and enjoy the journey. :2cool: There is no hurry.:vapor:

Hi and welcome to ECF and the world of vaping!

I didn't have the exact same "symptoms" you described, but I did have a really sore throat for about the first 7-10 days. Even now almost a month into this, I still notice my voice cracks now and then and I get a little ummm... "tickly" feeling in the back of my throat. I narrowed the sore throat thing down to the way I was inhaling - at first I was inhaling straight to my lungs. Once I started pulling the vapor into my mouth and THEN inhaling, the sore throat went away after about a day.

As for the infrequent cracking voice and the "tickly" throat, I'm still working on those. I do also notice at times that the VERY back of my tongue sometimes feels kind of "gunky". A quick brush of my teeth (and tongue) usually fix this. You have to remember that years of smoking has coated your mouth and tongue (and tastebuds) with tar. That feeling you have in your throat *might* just be some of that tar dislodging from your mouth and tongue and... well, yeah, you know - moving on down. Gross to think about, I know - but who ever said cigarettes were a clean habit? If anything, thinking of things like that just further convince me I'll *never* go back to smoking. Ever.

not enough water! Drink, drink, drink!

I hate, despise, icky, yukky water! I did not let this deter me. I merely picked up some of the crystal light packets, and use that. IT really helps out a lot.

Remember, both the pg and vg are "humectants" in which they "draw" water to themselves. Since we are so much water....well, you see how easy it is to dehydrate.
So, replace that. Your body, skin and hair will love you for it, as well!

You might want to try a higher nicotine level.

+1 for me :) Also I've recently received some 100% VG liquid, and I don't notice any dryness with it at all.

That problem with you throat may indicate that you are allergic to something in the juice. For most people it's the PG but it could also be something in the flavoring or even VG. I don't know what kind of juice you are vaping so it's hard to give any advice. If it persists or gets worse you can try a juice with no or less PG.
Dry mouth is normal with vaping. I drink more liquids and it doesn't bother me much.

You can also get juice with a hight nicotine content if you find it isn't satisfying your needs in the morning. I started with 24 mg but I wasn't a heavy smoker. You can also start the morning with something 36 mg nicotine then switch to a lower level during the day. You always cut down later on.

As for throat hit that may be a bit more of a problem. One way to get more that hit is to use more PG (propylene glycol) in your juice. More PG gives better throat hit, more VG gives more vapor. That may not work for you if you have an allergy to it. Another way is to use a lower ohm Atomizer or cartomizer. That is also a problem with the battery you have. Go to low in ohms and it may ruin the battery. You may be able to go to a lower ohm than you are using now but someone else will have give you advice about it. I just don't know that battery.

For juice you can try:

Thank you all for the fast replies :D It's been very helpful:p This ecig forum is just great!!

Oh and also that thing that i said seems to be stuck in my throat or something. Wenever I eat white rice it seems to go away. But then wen i go and start vaping again it's back.

You might want to try a higher nicotine level.
I'm currently using the 11mg nicotine. I will definetly try to use a higher nicotine in the morning and see if that meets my needs. I purchased some 24mg nicotine ejuice for my boyfriend. So i'll jack some of his ejuice this weekend to try them out. I actually did try some of his ejuice when he was vaping. I found the 24mg nic too harsh for me, it even made me cough. But then that was in the afternoon. Maybe next time i give it a try in the morning and see if that helps for that morning craving on cigs.

I am drinking more water than I ever have before, but have found what works for me better than water is club soda. It seems to do a better job of clearing the palate for me than plain water. Tried seltzer too, but prefer club soda.
I will grab some club soda tomorrow and see if it helps my dry mouth. :D Thanks for sharing Also i notice my complextion seems to be better then before. I use to breakout alot, since i started vaping i haven't seen a new acne coming. Maybe is the extra water i've been drinking that is helping my skin.

Currently i'm vaping 11mg PG MLB Tobacco and the 8mg PG/VG mix awesome kiwi. I'm not sure how much % PG/VG on the awesome kiwi, it doesn't say.
I just notice this right now, I think wen i vape the PG mlb tobacco i think my throat feels better then vaping the awesome kiwi. It still bother me abit but not as much then the awesome kiwi. I'm not sure or maybe i'm just not vaping as constantly as i was before. Need to test it first. If that is the case does that mean i have to go away from VG? I dunno how much VG was in the awesome kiwi. I email the place where i purchase the ejuice but they haven't reply to me yet.

For most it's the PG that they are allergic to. But it could be something in the flavoring too. You just have to try different juices and combinations and see what works for and enjoy the experience. Some people can just buy a battery, pre-filled cartos and never try anything else. For most of us on this forum it's a hobby. We try different batteries, cartos, attys, juices, modify equipment, buy flavorings to mix juices, we drip or don't drip and are usually just waiting for the next order to arrive. Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping

Thanks for your advice and everyone too. It's nice everyone is sharing there experience and helping each other. At first it kinda scare me when something new occured after vaping. But then i thought again ciggys are just as worst or even more worst. And with the help from all of you it make my vaping experience easier. So why not con't vaping and see wat happens, at least my family are not harm from my 2nd hand smoke. No one in my family smokes.

Some other flavor ejuice is on there way to me. I'll try them when they arrive and see if my situation gets better.

I was trying to drip the other day, I only drip two drips directly to the atty and it was flooded. The liquid was coming out from the atty's end and got all messy. When i try one drip it was fine, but 1 drip doesn't last too long and it gets annoying to keep dripping since i dun have a drip tip yet. Did i do anything wrong? I watch some youtube videos on how to drip, and i think i did what they said. They said 3 drips should be fine, but mines can't even hold 2 drips  Also I might be planning to get one of those Joye Ego Passthru, do you know if those batteries will be giving me better vapor? Any difference in using an ego battery then the regular 510 manual battery besides the battery last longer?
