Hi Everyone,
I'm glad to see that there is a decent forum for e-cig users :)

Well, I'm reasonably new to vaping and have purchased the Black Tornado, which I love.
I was browsing on Totally Wicked today to get some more flavours & cartomisers and I have realised that I have been using my e-cig incorrectly!? :S

I had purchased the double apple e-liquid flavour concentrate and also the marlborough e-liquid flavour concentrate and I have been using these to fill up my Tornado. I have however just realised that I am supposed to mix these with a flavourless liquid.
I'm guessing that the flavourless one is the nicotine and that would also explain why these ones I have didn't have the nicotine mg strength on them!

I'm quite worried now as I have been vaping these for the last 3 days. Is it harmful like this, to me or even the e-cig? Or can I carry on using them until the other ones have arrived in the post?

Tomorrow is my cigarette quit date and for the last week I have been doing really well & have only smoked 4 actual cigarettes since Saturday!

Please help!

Thanks

Hello & welcome Turkishlady :)

I'm surprised you have been getting any vapour if you have just been vaping flavour concentrates. I'm not usre if they will do you or the e-cig any harm or not. However, until your e-liquid arrives, you could get yourself a bottle of glycerine from a chemist or a small bottle from the baking section of a supermarket & use a few drops of the flavourings in that.

Well... that must be some strong flavor!

Usually flavor is added to nic juice. Nic juice has a mg rating for the nicotine, and a PG/VG ratio. Best to order some unflavored nic juice in whatever nicotine strength and PG/VG ratio. Then just add the flavoring to it (like 1 - 10 %). Or, order some pre-mixed nic juice.

If you do get some VG somewhere, make sure it's the correct stuff. See the DIY section:

DIY e-liquid

FYI - Most flavoring is in a PG base.

If you have been vaping pure flavor concentrate, you must be getting some strong flavor from your Tornado. It sounds to me like you are vaping 0 nicotine at this point.

If I were you I would not vape that anymore.

Go back to the TW site and see if you can find the pre-mixed e-juice in those two flavors. Look for a nicotine content and order the appropriate strength for you.

Juices need to have PG and/or VG mixed with the flavoring. Are you getting any vapor with the straight flavoring?

Also, it seems that the flavor concentrate by itself might gum up the atomizer/cartomizer rather quickly.

Those are just my recommendations, since I haven't heard of anyone vaping pure flavor concentrate.

Atty Pops, I think you have made things a lot clearer for me haha!!
I am unaware of what all these G- ending abbreviations are though :)

And yeah, the flavour was pretty strong but coz I'm used to Marlborough Reds I didn't really notice, o dear :S

Well, I think I will pick up some of this glycerine stuff.
And I'm still looking on the TW website and it seems that the only flavourless e-liq is in 36mg! That's way too much!
What am I gonna do! I love vaping and it seems the best way to give up the cigarettes, in fact it seems like cheating.. :)

Bozzlite,
Yes, typically I am probably the only one out there who has made this mistake! Ha!

Yeah the amount of vapour is pretty good, but doesn't last for that long. And I'm guessing that this also explains the overheating :( So when I mix them, I need to have a spare little bottle as well right?

Where can I purchase a flavourless nicotine liquid with a lower mg content? T.Wicked are out of stock on the only one they have which is 36mg (too high!)

Thanks

Tbh TurkishBeauty, I think it would be best to forget about mixing your own for now & buy some ready mixed juices. My fave UK juice seller is Paradise Vapes (cheaper than TW)

Paradise Vape UK

But do get that glycerine to use till you get some e-liquid. You can always use it at a later date to cut any of the pre made juices plus add some of your concentrates to the cut juices. This will of course cut the nic content.

Yeah I think I need more experience with vaping, I'm getting pretty confused haha!
Out of interest, can glycerine be used in the long term?
I have also started using nicorette patches today, and have only vaped once all day and smoked no cigarettes. For me it seems that the kick back of the smoke on my throat is the biggest factor of my enjoying smoking.
So, what if I used the patches and glycerine with my flavours in the Tornado..? Would that work for now? :)

The "G" is glycerine or glycol. Put your mouse over PG or VG and it should pop up a little balloon help message.

I think TW (Totally Wicked) has different strengths... you have have to select it from a pull down box or something.

30ML Totally Wicked- Patriot Range E.Liquid

Like I said (and Bozz and others)..... you can just order some pre-mixed and not worry about the flavoring.

ARRGGHHHH :(

Oh no, what bad timing for you :( Hopefully it won't take to long. Try logging back in & see if your items are still in your basket.

In the meantime, here's a list of some more UK suppliers for you to have look at -
