I'm not a smoker but I'm looking for a good E-cigarette recomendation. I'd like to give it to my brother so he can quit.

Hi,

I'm looking for the best e-cigarette that's easy to use, and safe to use for a gift for my brother and his girlfriend. I'd like to avoid products made from China. It doesn't have to be rechargeable. I'm not too sure if he'd like it so a starter kit or a more affordable kit would work best. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your replies!

Well, this was invented in China. And there really arent many, if any, full time manufacturers in the USA. I am not sure about Canada.

Chances are youll have some Chinese componants.

The fluids are a differant story. I wouldnt buy my fluids from China. Some do. But, i have my reservations. At the top of these forums, just below the banner, there is a link to many suppliers that people around here like.

As for a nuit to purchase, i recommend going for a eGo Starter kit. It has everything youll need except for flavors. And it is an all around solid unit. There are some other units that are just as good. The Riva, The Inferno, the Vgo are all good as well. Most of the components are very similar.

I highly recommend the Joye eGo or 510 kits from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. - I have converted my nephew over from analogs using their stuff.. and I used it to convert myself as well. I am trying now to convert my 71 year old mother from analog to ecig using their products. The shipping is FAST, the products are solid and the customer service is incredible. Vicki doesn't pressure you to buy anything but will either give advice if you ask for it, or point you to someone who knows what you're asking about better than she does. I credit her company with adding years to my life, and allowing me to FINALLY fulfill the promise I made to my father to quit as he was dying of cancer. He passed away in 2002, and I finally feel like I'm square with him.

You could try a disposable kit. They're only good for a limited number of recharges and the cartridges probably leave a lot to be desired. But, they're cheap (~$10) and it would give them a chance to see if vaping even appeals to them, for a small amount of money. If they think it's a nifty idea after trying it, go for something more substantial and lasting.

But, if I were in your shoes and could swing a bit more money on the experiment, I'd go straight for either an eGo type or a KR808D-1. In either case, check out the varying options available for those units. (JMHO) (YMMV)

I agree with trying the disposables first. The reason I say this is because I'm wondering if he's expressed interest in switching to vaping, or if your motivation is because you want him to quit smoking. Don't get me wrong. It's admirable that you want him to quit and it's preferable that he quits, but he has to want to quit.

I know if someone just gave me an e-cig starter kit, I probably would've been offended. Quitting is something every addict has to decide to do on their own, for themselves. They can't (and won't) do it because it's what someone else wants, no matter how well intended. JMHO and from personal experience.

I also agree with the disposables first. I'd have been offended as well if someone just gave me an e-cig kit out of the blue (or especially if they'd been "harping" on me to quit smoking previously). And I probably wouldn't even use it unless they were able to extract a firm promise from me. No use getting it if it's just going to collect dust.
