I got an infraction for my first post, so I won't try that 5-post in one thread thing again :)

My name's Chris, I'm from Ottawa, I'd like to try E-Cig's as a way to help me quit smoking.

Please help me get my post count up, so I can start talking to my fellow Canadians about my supplier options :)

And if you're a Canadian, please feel free to reply and let me know what starter kit got you going initially, and who you go to for your supplies now.

I've been watching a lot of videos, and reading a bunch of posts, and it seems as though everyone loves the Joye line of products. I'll probably be looking at an eGo or 510.

For someone who's generally a 1/2-pack/day smoker, what nicotine content should I be looking at for my e-juice?

There's no real rule, and you should estimate on the high side when first starting, but I would say 12-18mg should be close. Try 18 first. Better too high than too low. Get both if you can.

There seem to be some people who buy an Ego, KGO or whatever (next step up from the stick-type cigarette look-alikes) and are happy with it for a long time. Then there are others (yours truly included) who quickly want to take the next step. So, regardless of what you buy, there's no assurance that you'll be content with it 2 months from now.

Personally, I bought a KGO starter kit and I love it. It works great, was less than $50 for the whole kit (2 batteries, charger, cartos and cones) and has allowed me to get off (and stay off) analogs for 10 days. But I'm already looking around at more advanced models. But that's just me wanting to experiment. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the KGO and it vapes great.
