Three of the four batteries I got yesterday have died. Now if I was chucking them against the wall between drags, or if I hooked them up to a vacuum cleaner and kept the button pressed non-stop, I could see this, but I wasn't. One of them hadn't been used at all, another had been used once, and the third had been used less than a dozen times. I have one working battery left. Oh, and I have the cruddy little temporary unit I got until this "higher quality" one got delivered.

All the batteries have gone into their "oh no we're being abused!" mode and pressing the button just gives me 10 flashes of the LED at the end of the battery. They're little paperweights, and it's going to be at least Monday before I can even think about something else being shipped to me. So far I'm very less than thrilled with 510 batteries. And my GLV is still weeks away.

I've ordered a GLV-2 Mini that I'm sure I'll be in love with, as soon as it gets here. I stocked up on 510 parts because I knew I could just cross them over to the GLV without a hitch. But I wanted something as a backup that I could rely on. I'm not feeling the love for this 510 kit that I used to.
:-x

The vendor is a very reputable one, who shall remain nameless because he didn't make these batteries, he just sold them. I'm positive if he knew they'd fail, he wouldn't have done that, and I'm positive he'll make it right. Unfortunately, that doesn't help me for the next few days.

I didn't notice you saying anything about recharging them. When we first got our kit we had to let all the batteries charge up FULLY before we used it. Once you get them all recharged up, you will find it much easier to always have at least 1 or 2 at full charge all the time. As soon as one discharges, put it on the charger and get a fresh one on your pv. Repeat as necessary.

They're not dead as in "oh, they ran down", they're dead as in "they won't do anything". They're in panic mode - when the chip detects that power is going out too fast and disconnects the power feed to protect the battery. It's supposed to reset within a couple of minutes, but this has been going on for 8-24 hours. They can't charge or feed power to anything because they're disconnected internally.
