Congratulations Tracey! I do believe that calls for a celebration Reo!

Now you get to plan all of your noisy presents (musical instruments?) and double sugar snacks

My in laws bought my daughter, when she was about 12, a pogo stick that made mechanical "boing" noises every time it hit the ground

She never actually used it much as a pogo stick but loved to carry it around and bounce it off the floor just to annoy the crap out of her mother and me. My in laws called it the ultimate grandparent gift

I still haven't forgiven them for that :?:

Congratulations Tracey!

I've got my third grandchild due in March, it's an awesome thing. Your whole job is to love 'em, spoil 'em and send 'em home

My Dad always said if he knew having grandkids was so much fun he would have had them first

I agree with him

And when the time comes, you know the rules here... pics or it didn't happen!

Thank you I am so excited!! I've heard this over and over about grandbabies but finally get to find out!! :)

My dil has a daughter so I get to sorta be a granny, but it's not encouraged for her to view me or my ex as grandparents really. Wishing the very best for them!!!

Grandchildren, are the rewards I get for not killing my children when they were growing up. Now they know what I went through, pay back is hell and I enjoy watching.:D

LOL! I only have the one child and she was such a good baby and has barely ever given me any trouble....I stopped at one :)

Tracey, my mother wanted to be called Big L, and tried her best to get that to happen but somehow it came out as Lu Lu, after a while she gave up and said it didn't matter what she called her as long as she called her. It stuck and all of them called her that. She loved music and much to our dismay gave drums, guitars, tambourines and keyboards as gifts for their homes but insisted they were to much trouble to bring to hers. When my brother's kids came he made sure they had play doe, water color paint, glitter and glue packed. PAYBACK..LOL

Congratulations! From reading this thread it's going to be one loved baby. Enjoy!

the kid in me thinks this was be awesome! Loved my pogo stick when I was a kid. I had a super bouncy one, rode that thing all over the neighborhood. Ex's are good for this as well, my ex bought our son a drum set when he was little.....to be left at my house of course.

Yes that was me! lol
See......sometimes whining and complaining DOES pay off!!! hehehe

Congrats Granny! I have 5 Grandsons and one Great Grandbaby coming.
wow.......how fantastic!!!

When my brother's kids came he made sure they had play doe, water color paint, glitter and glue packed.
Now this was me. One daycare I worked in I would give breaks to the other teaches. they hated me, cuz I'd always break out the glitter, paints etc when they'd go to lunch. The kids loved me though, cuz most of the others would rarely let em do that stuff, especially the glitter. Didn't bother me, it washes! Well, most of it in the case of glitter! hehehe

oh thank you for all the suggestions!! I'm glad I just gave away the keyboard lol. My mom was in her 40's when she became a grandma and she asked to be called Mammy. Mammy stuck for the four grandkids, now all grown, but one passed three years ago. Yes my family needs a baby!! :)

Congrats ! We have five grands and six step-grands. A word of advice - be careful what you say around them ;
When my oldest grandson was three, I was taking him home after a weekend with us. Trying to across the six- lane boulevard through the center of town, but there was one old woman doing like 30mph in a 45 zone where most do 50- 55. I mumbled "C'mon old woman, get your ... out of the way." that's when I heard a little voice say "C'mon old woman, get your ... out of the way." At which point I told him don't go home and say that in front of your Mom.
We get to my son's house, and little Steven runs strait inside. His Mom (my DIL) is bent over reaching into the refrigerator, when he runs up behind her, plants both his little hands on her .... cheeks and yells "C'mon Old Woman, Get Your ... Out of the Way !!!" My DIL straitens up, looks at him and says "Oh, you've been with Papaw today."
Little Steven is now 16 years old, 6'3", 285 lbs. and driving. Seems to me the Grandkids grew up faster than their parents did....
