After a rough start with my gear (battery and coil issues) and much fumbling I've finally got things running some what smoothly and have been able to quit my Marlboro Ultra Light 100's. Today will be day 5 without having a cig and I'm honestly totally fine with it. Which after smoking a pack a day or more for 28 years is astounding. I like the vaping experience so much that I honestly can't imagine picking up another cig, ever, now that I'm learning how to vape. This is huge for me because I didn't plan on quitting, didn't want to, I liked it to much and now here I am turning my nose up at ciggies. I just simply experimented with my set up my sister bought me because I was curious about it and the transition to quitting cigs was then smooth and stress free. Just incredible. I'm so glad/grateful/thankful that vaping exists, it's been such a complete life changer for me. This is huge.

I know exactly how you feel. Congratulations on day 5. Amazing. Thank you for sharing.

I was amazed too. I quit smoking after 35 years of 3 PAD American Spirit Black. I was hardcore, yet vaping was magical. I say magical, because vaping was my 19th serious attempt to quit smoking, and my third attempt via vaping. The better batts, clearos and stronger juice finally enabled me to quit, over six months ago, and I have had exactly one "reward puff" since. It was disgusting by the way.

The gratitude you share is heartfelt, and I feel the same way. Good luck to you! Power up and Vape on!

Congratulations :toast:!! It really is liberating to say "I'm a non-smoker" after feeling that you would be a smoker until you died, isn't it? I'm like you OP in that I quit almost by accident. I smoked 1 1/2-2 PAD for 22 years and, after MULTIPLE attempts, I considered myself a "confirmed smoker". After I tried a PV I knew that I would never smoke again and that legislators would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands (hands that no longer smell of stale smoke, btw :2cool:).

Thanks for the congrats everyone, you all are great! Unlike most smokers I never tried to quit, not once. Didn't wanna! I got really sick once and couldn't smoke for a few weeks, I was bad off sick, but lit up as soon as I was up and about again. So I guess I'm lucky that fate intervened and my sis bought me my ego twist and vivi nova because I never would have quit otherwise.

My sentiments exactly! I smoked for almost 25 years (egads!). I started in college and cigs were one of the very few constants in my life. I honestly believed that I would never quit, though I desperately wanted to. Vaping is nothing short of a miracle to me. Just one week off analogs (a nearly painless transition), and already I feel so much better both physically and mentally. I am empowered!

Way to go Penny! I hear you, never wanted to quit analogs ever. 27 yrs pad. I bought a twist/vivi just for kicks and it stuck to me like glue! What i won't miss the most - going out at 10:00pm when i know damn well i have to get up at 3:30 to get to work. I just hit 6mo.'s vaping and haven't looked back once. Just wish i had found ECF sooner i probably would have saved a bundle.

Took me a month of vaping to leave the old pack of smokes at home while going out.A security blanket fills a need but when its a crutch its done, congrats.

46 years of smoking, smoked at home without any drama (my house plants were OK with it), smoked in my car, and have a job that allows me to take a break nearly any time I want. So I had almost no reason to even attempt to "quit", other than an increasing tendency to suffer bouts of bronchitis ...

For me, as an engineer, I simply recognized that vaping is a superior delivery system for nicotine, more cost effective, with far fewer consequences. In my world, that's called "product improvement" and "cost reduction" ...

I love my caffeine and nicotine, its pleasureable to indulge these preferences, and I have no Puritanical need to regulate the behavior of society. I was raised to believe that its low-class and boorish to publicly criticize the habits of others, when the option of distancing yourself from the objectionable person exists. I apply this methodology to the "brittle people" of the world by simply walking away from their zone of influence, thereby satisfying my preference for independence. My father taught me that the harshest response to a "dominance addict" is to deny them the opportunity to influence your thoughts or actions ...

Congratulations to the OP for embracing a techically advanced means to improve health and avoid the stigma of smoking, that has been deeply entrenched by decades of media sensationalism ...

Vaping has actually made life a little easier for me. I never smoked in my house or in front of my kids (18,16,11) and boy I can tell you that was a hassle, worth it though. I refused to expose my kids to it in any way. So it's so nice to not have to sneak out back (especially in winter) to hide it. I've been able to stealth vape in the house with them at home and not be noticed. I just keep it in my jeans pocket under my shirt and pull it out for a quick drag. I don't have to worry about the kids finding my cig stash, I'm not sneaking off all the time and I'm not jonesing for a cig because I'm to tied up to get out back to have cig. Very nice!
