Tripple digits half way to home
A co-worker finally decided to get off his dead .... and do a bit of research. I will deffinatly applaud that effort, (knowing the people I work with).(they all always come to me for the answers, Well get off the nasty sites and get informed.). Sorry mods.
He wraped his first rba. It's a RSST. Not the best but great for a beginer. His first wrap was at 1.4ohms. Not to shaby. IMHO.
Then he said that he wanted to go sub-ohm like I do. :danger:
I run my sub ohms on a mechinacal and never on a electronic device. I'll stay with 0.9 - 1.0 ohms on my legacy's or SB.
He's using a vamo and a Tesla.
I warned him about it and after he didn't listen he blew out his circut board on a vamo then a Tesla.
When he started to cry about it I opened the text message I'd sent to him and read what I had warned him about. His first response was "What's a digital meter?". I explained about amp loads and different things.
Then I took a deep breath and calmly said. "Oh young one you need to study the art of ZEN and the proper way to build an rba"

Before I started to laugh I just calmly walked out of the office.
Kids. Got to be like the old foggie in the shop. If you ain't got it Don't flaunt it. I ain't got it and I don't flaunt it. But I know what's right and what ain't.
Sorry he lost his devices but ya got to be careful with those rba's. They can be tricky little crittlers. Lurking everywhere to short your board.
Lession learned I hope.

On electronic PV is not recommended to use less than 1.5 ohm coil.
Beginners also not recommended for use the genesis on the pulse PV, such as VAMO. The devices of your colleagues is clearly broken, sorry about that. To configure the genesis best to use mech - MOD (if less than 1.5 ohm) or like ProVari, eGO if the coil is more than 1.5 ohms.

Vamo and Tesla don't have short protection?

That's what I tried to tell him. The only device I'll power up is my provari and it gets checked on a meter before that. Let em learn the hard way. Sad but so true.

... they do have short protection, just like your Provari

Not to start a flare up but they are mass manufactured in China. I've seen lots of china made mods go south when they shouldn't.
Don't flame me I'm just stating my opinion. And no I'm not a Provari fan boy. I'll take my Legacy or Reo over the Provari anyday. In fact I really enjoy my MVP a whole lot also.

mine has fired a .09 coil, although i don't hang that low, it does fire it.
maybe they should make sure people aren't sub-ohming before they reco them. lol.
poor noobs may wind up getting hurt.
hangin out at the burn ward icu for the past 2 weeks with my step son, gotta say.
getting badly burned is a horrible thing to have happen to you.
especially if it's in yo face.
you might say, oh well, he learn the hard way.
you might save someones face or eyes, if force a little safety advice on them.
if you piss them off, oh well, they still may remember what you told them and save face.
would you let a 6 yr old cross traffic at rush hour ?
save a noob. piss 'em off.
