I'm starting to have second thoughts! 401 or 510?

Those are all good threads to read.
I started with a 401 about 2 months ago. Got a 510 about 3 weeks ago, now the 401 sits in a box.
It all depends what is most important to you. If you are out and about a lot, the 401 is very discreet and the batteries last a good while. The 510 batteries do not last very long, so you will want the pcc unless you will be near a charger most of the time.

I too have both and use them both about equally back and forth. M401 for better flavor and longer battery life, 510 for more vapor.

I don't have both however, my M401 cranks out plenty of vapor for me. Seems like a sturdy unit as well. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in about not worrying about lack of vapor production... some of these folks must be pretty hard-core needing more, LOL

The way I see it, is if your 510 happens to bite the big one, you'll be glad that 'ol M401 is sitting there in the box.

I have a 901 and a 401.

The 901 kicks the 401's .... for vapor production and throat hit. I hear the 510 kicks the 901's .... the same way.

I can't use my 901 all day, it is just too much vapor, nic and harshness for me. My 401 gives me the flavor and smoothness I want.

I think you will find that one e-ciggy may not do it all for you like I did.

401 & 901, love them both...need them both.

Edit: I use primarily 24mg juice, and smoked 1- 1&1/2 pack of M lights/day

I have a 401,801,901,510 and for me other than the mods I have the 510 produces the most vapor and has the best throat hit for a small ecig but battery life is short lived about 1.5-2.5 hrs of steady use as with the 401 I get about 4-6 hrs on a battery . having both makes a great combo to go between .

I have the 401, 510 (manual batt) and the 901.

I really like all three, but I really need my throat hit and for me, the 901 is best for that. I seem to get inconsistant throat hits with my 510, esp. w/passthrough. Others have different experiences.

All three produce good vapor.

I'm still new enough I haven't figured what one is supposed to do to get the best flavor---mainly because I just put juice in the cart, but still know zero about 'high bridge' vs 'low bridge' and a ton of other stuff.

I can vape away on the 510 and 401 and then have to get my 901 when I need that throat hit.

Anyway, I take all three with me when I leave the house----ALWAYS!:)

Oh, and I have a passthrough for the 510 to use when I'm home cuz the batts don't last too long.

Alot of it has to do with individual preference, so it's good to try different ones. (And fun to play with new toys!);)

I have both the 401 and 510 and have to say that my 510 is my primary now and pretty much only ecig. Flavor, throat hit and vapor production are just better with the 510. That is not to say that the 401 is not a great ecig. As far as reliability goes, this one can't be beat in my opinion. The batteries last a long time for being so small, it is very discreet in public places, atty life is excellent with the 401. I just don't get the flavor I want from it. I am hoping once I get a passthru with manual switch for the 401, it will once again be number one or at least darn close, as I have tons of parts for it that I would like to use. I think the 401 would be a much better product without the cutoff. In order for me to get enough vapor, the cutoff has activated numerous times, which drives me nuts. I am sure part of my issues with this model are strictly the way I vape. Either way you go, you will have top of the line as to what is out there now.
