You may need to use more force than what you've tried thus far. A couple of things to try:

Put the "tank" part into the freezer for several minutes. The cold should cause the metals to contract just enough to loosen the connection.

Last resort, use a couple pair of pliers or vise grips to loosen the connection. I suggest using a thin piece of cloth (hankerchief?) between the tools and the tank to avoid scratching the metal.

Whoever assembled the tank innitially apparently over-tightened the connection. Don't repeat their mistake.

Yeah that videos not very helpful, at 3m mark where he does the bit i can't do he actually fades out. then fades back in with it already unscrewed somewhat.
I included the video merely to show/confirm that the tank actually comes apart at the location you described.

If after trying the tips I suggested you are still unsuccessful, I suggest returning it to the vendor where you purchased it.

Curious. I feared it was going to be total junk for large money, like many brands.
(A lot of this stuff is just a straight con)...

It's a run-of-the-mill e-cig for a fair price. Whether any of it is universal is harder to predict. I fear it's specially designed tanks and atomizers from a company like 'Eleaf' or similar.

You could have a usable product long-term, or you could jump ship to a pen or pod system made by Eleaf, Innokin or Kanger or Aspire and save yourself being tied into a proprietary system. At least you didn't fall for Vaporfi or V2..... that'd be like an episode of The Walking Dead... all zombies and despondency.

I got there in the end. I had to use pliers quite well gripped, on the base, and hold the rest to unscrew it. Who needs 7 layers of skin on all fingers anyway?
But as another thing, there is a round hole in the atomizer base, tiny, but when used a tiny bit of vapour/smoke seems to come out of this, is this normal?
Welcome and glad you joined. Looks like you solved the problem less a little skin.
As to the mystery hole, sounds like a air hole which equalizes air pressure within your tank or perhaps an air intake/inhale hole. You can confirm if its an air intake by placing your finger over the hole while inhaling. If you then have problems inhaling, you will have your answer.
