Important Announcement about the SMOKtech Telescope PV Mod

I have a lot of APVs and I had no intention of purchasing one of these as I have basically the same device from Europe that is more high end and a lot more expensive. However given these new events and the fact that GV has shown again that they are not in it for the $ I will be purchasing one of the new ones as soon as they come in.

Excellent to see that Smoktech is addressing this and isn't leaving GotVapes hanging on it.

As usual, Dan and Chris go way above and beyond for their customers. It's why I'm here, and will be for a very long time.

I think it is important to note as well that the "recall" order took less than a week. It was after a relatively few complainants had held it in their hands (I have difficulty accepting that people who have never touched a product or seen it in person should have their claims substantiated), and after absolutely NO actual "incidents". I'm neither denying nor accepting the reason, but I am saying I wouldn't trust a company who pulled products after only a single "real" concern and a few dozen unsubstantiated. I dont think they would be around for long. So it IS a balancing act.

Thats pretty freaking amazing right there. Campanies just don't recall things until something hazardous occurs, and certainly they take longer than this. So kudos to gotvapes, and smileys to bad who has a bit of a temper (I do too )

I REALLY like this Telescope. Great equipment. It's quality, workmanship and design. The whole tube thread was a brilliant move in my opinion. That makes it easier to mod in the future. Without breaking the bank it's a mod that will last. I did not see a problem with venting but I am no genius. I will return the part and I will take the return shipping costs but like others have said, KEEP YOUR $25 credit.

Now it's time for me to take my shoe out of my mouth but only to offer an apology. In my comments on one of my recent orders, I criticized the Alpha program's structure. I even offered an alternative criteria. The nerve of this guy! (I mean me). My snicker moment was when I wrote, " Thank God the Telescoping Mod wasn't in the Alpha Sect, at least I can get one now." This guy's got some balls! (again I mean Me). Hell if it did make it to Alpha, these great guys could have saved themselves a lot of time, money, attempts to damage their reputation and a tremendous amount of aggravation. Not to mention they lost a bit of sleep over this non-issue.
A salute, a gentleman's bow and apology courtesy of Norm "Tully Mars" Tanner. Never even something that could possibly be understood as a negative peep from me ever again. Keep sending candy I have put Diatomaceous Earth around the post of my mail box so no more ants and such.

I might have missed it but WHO started this whole thing. Who is the culprit that wrote the negative stuff about GV and the Mod? A paranoid conspiracy theorist? A disgruntled ex-employee/lover/science experiment? Competitor? My neighbor's dog? (I REALLY hate that dog. He won't leave my cats alone.) No, absolutely not. It was a really nice guy, who granted gets super excited and it very upfront. He had a legitimate concern. He has a right to that opinion and to tell people about it. What happened after that was a whole bunch of people who mostly had never even physically seen or tried this mod jumped on the band wagon with some less than polite comments. The original commentator like I said had legitimate concerns over a PV he had in his hands. Things did spiral out of control, but please don't think it started with anyone who has bad intentions. It was a weird internet viral situation.

Mob mentality on a global scale. I was hoping it was one guy/gal that way it could be lightened up. A bunch of fools drawing un-needed negative attention to an already scrutinized apparatus is bad. The words e-cigarette and recall should never be used together. The mis-guided news of the guy with the exploding mod was bad enough even though it was the fool's fault. GotVapes has done the right thing for e-cigarettes on a nationwide scale. Nipping this in the bud with Smok by GotVapes and anyone else in the industry who was involved, was what could only be described as a pre-emptive strike. They all deserve a pat on the back. One group of angry people could set vaping back years. You may say I am exaggerating, or acting like an alarmist. To this day when somebody asks about the thingy I am smoking, they also ask if I am afraid of it blowing up in my face. I'm not making a mountain out of a mole hill but I believe GV, SMOK and whomever else was involved in the solution made a mole hill out of a FUTURE mountain.
