Hello everyone,
I am a still a newbie to vaping and I wanted to try to help people out and keep them from making a mistake that I have made. (If this is in the wrong thread please move it for me moderators thank you)

At the beginning of May 2011 I decided I wanted to purchase my first PV mod. So I looked around at some websites on google. I eventually found ecigmods.com (ECF won't transfer you to the site, it will be a broken link if you try to go there from here.) where I seen very reasonably priced mods.
Since I never had a mod before I didn't really want to invest a lot of money into one without knowing what it was going to be like. So I bought the Vape360. HUGE MISTAKE! The mod took many weeks to arrive & I received ZERO communication from the owner Craig Patterson. When I finally got the mod it was extremely ugly cosmetic wise. Looked very cheaply built and was all banged up. I didn't let that bother me though because I paid like $30 for it. So I tried it out and it worked great.. The hits were way better than my e-cig. I left a great review on the site.. Which was another huge mistake. Because it worked for exactly 2 weeks and something inside has malfunctioned and now it doesn't work. I never dropped it or messed with it in any way. So I went to the site and seen that Craig has a one month warantee on all his mods to be fixed free of charge. I wrote him a message through his ticket system about my problem. NO RESPONSE. I waited a few days in case he was swamped with work or something.. still nothing. So I wrote him again.. nothing. Waited again. still nothing. I tried again today and found out that I am blocked from opening another message ticket through his site. So now I am extremely angry.

I wish I would have searched did a search on ECF for this site & this craig patterson because what I turned up on the forum has been nothing but negative things about him doing this to many other members as well. I found out he used to have a supplier page on here until his horrible customer service got him removed.

I just want to warn anyone that might be thinking about doing business with this person.. It is at your own risk. Only you can decide who you want to purchase from but just make sure you do all the proper research first. Because no one wants to be scammed or ripped off.

So all newbies & ECF members BEWARE of people & sites like this.

Im not offended at all.. I just haven't been back till now. I wish I would have done the research about this site & person here on ECF before the purchase.. Because an ECF or even a google search brings up the worst stuff about them. I will definitely know better next time that's for sure. And I also will be getting in contact with my CC company & the BBB and anyone else who will listen lol. I just want to make sure that everyone makes the right buying decisions and does the right searching before handing over their information to just anyone.

I've made the same error. If they're not registered on this site AND active in the forums, I will not do business with them without the recommendation of someone reputable like WomanOfHeart here. The purple "Supporting Member" tag under the name and the thousands of posts tell you that folks like her really care about vaping and vapers.

Damn this is good to know I was about to buy the same mod I even added it to my favorite links and was going to get it when I got paid this weekend among other Items for my vaping needs. So now that I know this I will not be sending my money over at that site. Does any one know where I can get a good reasonable mod from a reliable seller???

Well, this question isn't so easily answered without knowing what you're looking for first. Take a look Here and see if you can narrow down which type of mods you like the best and go from there. Then ask around here on the forum and check the Registered Suppliers section down toward the bottom of the main forum page.

It took me a couple of months and some pretty dumb luck on the Classifieds to find my first mod.

Thanks for the nod, Critter! Always appreciated!

Yeah I know what I want. I wanted to go cheap but i have no other option then to drop some money on what I want. Ive been looking into building a Fist pack with the 2600mah battery but I will only be able to vape from about 3.7V to 5V and the pass-through capability. But I really like to have a tube mod but I don't want to build a flashlight mod unless I can make it VV with pass-through capability and have about a 2600mah battery in it. So I'm stuck between the Provari that will do VV up to 6V that does everything I want plus its tube but it will not have pass-through capability. I also in love with the 4000mah Helix from E-liquid planet looks like it would last forever with that bat. Too bad its always out of stock.
I need the 510 atty to be flushed with the top of the mod so that I can use the Liquidnator v4.2 from Vaporescence plus it would look better on a tube mod since its round. I do want a challenge and I'm a little good with the soldering gun and that's why I'm thinking about doing the fist pack. I was going to buy the indulgence V2 from eastmall but the 510 connector is not flushed.

You might have a look over at Mad Vapes - Welcome to MadVapes LLC

I am looking to build a box mod and will be using some parts from MV. They also offer a number of complete, ready-to-go Mods such as Box Mods, Roughstacks, Epowers etc. Very reasonably priced IMHO. Haven't used these mods myself but I know quite a few ECF members like them a lot and I do know that MV is a great vendor.

Welcome to ECF BTW.

To the OP Abraxis, So sorry to hear of your problems. Hope you can get it resolved to your satisfaction. Usually, the CC companies can make shoddy vendors feel a little pain in situations like this. Thats one BIG reason why I only buy from vendors who are registered and currently active here on ECF. We have some fabulous folks who bend over backwards to satisfy their customers. We also have some of the finest members of any forum I've ever been on here as well...but I think you already have had a sample of ECF's hospitality!

Welcome!

HA hilarious! Because it is DEFINITELY the other way around... He treated the people of ECF poorly. He should be extremely embarassed and ashamed of himself. I also found out that he does the mods out of a house that I'm pretty sure he lives at with his father Tim who also runs some other kind of "business" out of the house as well

Wow. I just watched a couple of videos on that POS. Epoxy just pressed around the top of it, switches and USBs that didn't work, cracks everywhere. It looks like something one of my kids would've built...when they were 3!!! Only theirs would've worked. It's hard for me to believe that he still tries to shill....er...."sell" these! No wonder he was banned!

Funniest thing yet...he has his own forums...with 55...count 'em....55 users! That's a kickin' forum right there, folks!

Do a quick search on the Vapezilla here on the ECF. It will show you everything you need to know about this vendor. I personally know a few people who this guy still owes money to over that fiasco, and that was nearly a couple of years ago.

Wasn't he the guy here in Atlanta? All big promises and no delivery.

Here is a site that summerizes many of the bettery battery sites:

Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database

Before I would buy one, I would always try to see if anyone on ECF has used the one I was interested in.

If you are interested in an inexpensive 5 volt box mod or variable volt for that matter, Ken's Box Mods has a very good reputation. I have one of his 5 volt models and it vapes great and cost $37. Here's his site:

that ecigmod website is a great database for mods u can pick from. jus sort it according what style you like, tubular or box. then you can do a browser search for what size battery you like
or just click on the ones you think that look nice and go from there

once you find a mod you might like..put this in google:

site:www.e-cigarette-forum.com <name of mod>

thatll give you more than enough opinions about whatever you choose.

good luck
