important question about my DIY for someone that knows what they are doing ;-)

I really want to get better at DIY... but most of what I make blows...

So I finally make a liquid or two that I actually enjoy... good flavor...

Using Wizard Labs 50/50 @18mg... and only TPA flavorings.

...and when I vape it in my cartos, it heats up too quickly... doesn't wick terribly well... the performance is horrible.

Does this sound like bad nic and base to you? ...because the liquids I buy from vendors don't work this horribly.

Is there a place that sells higher end nic and base? or is wizard labs good enough?

The 50/50 is probably a bit thick if you're using traditional cartos, try adding a drop or two of distilled water to thin the vg a bit

First, Hey Lasttango! It's been awhile since you posted a question here...

It sounds like a wicking issue to me which leads me to believe you are using one of the thicker VG's. The best flowing VG I've ever had was made by Proctor and Gamble, but it was given to me and I have no idea where to find it. My gallon buckets still have some VG in them, so I haven't had to look yet. You could try a few drops of Everclear, PGA, to get your bottle thinned down a bit. Errr, you're in NY, I think vodka is as high proof as your state allows... (Does NY allow the purchase of 180 proof? I thought it didn't...)

It doesn't sound like bad nic base to me. I usually use Xtreme vaping's nic though. It's not cheap, but it always gives me a clean consistent quality product.

Also to make things more tasty add a drop of sour and a few drops sweetener to brighten a flavor. I also like thinner juices, 80/20 or 70/30. 50/50% is just so thick and doesn't wick well for me. bnrk

in delaware they sell the everclear ;-) have some,,,, oh yeah, Xtreme Vaping - I have bought from them before... that's levi right? some reputable vendors use his stuff...

I vape 50/50 12 mg. without issue. I mix my own base. If all else fails you might give horizontal coils a try. Kanger makes some nice LR XL carts. A box of 5 for $7 on sale at Discount Vapers.

Wizard Labs "Ice" or Xtreme Vaping nic is the best you'll find in the usa.

Adding just flavorings to a premade unflavored nic base ( if you bought a 50/50 18 mg nic) dilutes the nic present in the base also.

So if you added a total of 15% flavoring (likely 100% pg based) you lose 15% of that 18 mg nicotine.... 18- 2.7 = (15.3)

You have been vaping 15.3 mg nic if you flavored PREMADE 18 mg 50/50 nic with flavorings totalling 15%
