Hi Everybody! :D

I need to see what you guys think about this situation.
I live in a bldg that was recently made a non smoking bldg (it includes ecigs). I quit smoking and started vaping several months before the ban went into effect and I continued to vape afterwards because the vapor doesn't leave a signature nor can it be smelled and if it is, it is a fruity smell (because I vape fruits/sweets). The landlady and others have been through doing yearly inspections and they can't smell anything either..one person even commented on how nice the apartment smelled, lol.
This is the issue: one of the other tenants still smokes (because he can't stop..I know..I have been there) and the smoke is wafting into my apartment and other apartments that are on the same building air exhaust line. I just turn on my kitchen fan and it keeps the smoke in the building exhaust system.
I REALLY WANT to do a conversion on this guy cause I would hate to see him get thrown out because he is smoking, but some of the folks in this building are some stone-cold backstabbing gossips and I have seen a situation where somebody did something for someone else and it blew back in thier faces. I don't know him well; I just see him occasionally. If I help this guy, I run the very real risk of someone finding out and then my own tenancy may be put into jeopardy
He is a disabled Vet and I have a soft spot in my heart for Vets because my Dad was one (WW2)

Maybe leave a care package with a good disposable and the web address for ECF just make sure nobody sees you do it ;)

Excellent Idea~!!! That was my first thought also. :)

That would be a great idea except I don't have any disposables..I have eGos..I'm seriously thinking about getting one of those 19.95 intro kits from smokeless image for him, because anything else would require some explanation.

I think a kit from Smokeless Image would be a great idea. Also include the website for ECF like Rosa said. At least you will be trying to help him without placing yourself in danger of being found out. Good luck and let us know how it goes! :)

Great ideas!

I'd include an anonymous note in the package explaining a bit of how to use it, why/how it will benefit him (including not being booted out of the building), and, as others have said, the suggestion to check out ECF. You might mention that his cigarette smoke is detectable from outside of his apartment and that he is running a great risk of being discovered.

Don't put the note on your letterhead :D

I am more with ImThatGuy's suggestion. Why not just talk to the guy and avoid all the cloak and dagger nonsense? Tell him your experience and let him know you are concerned for him. If you are not already friendly with him, maybe start with the part you finished your initial post with about having a soft spot in your heart for disabled vets because your dad is one.

Oh, don't just hang them on the doorknob! That will tell everyone that walks by what's happening. Put 'em in a box or something sealed from "curious eyes".

LOL....I'm trying to figure out what to put it in...I knew those gift bags I was saving would come in handy, lol

Next time you see him try to strike a conversation with him. Eventually leading to a conversation about vaping. Inform and educate then give him his options; get kicked out or live a healthier lifestyle.

Just saying...

she said that she doesn't want to do that - gossips could get her in trouble herself.......

I'd rather chance the gossips than rely on a kitchen fan! That's not counting the probable eviction of a vet.

As to 'dropping off' a vaping gift, will he know what to do with it?

To the OP, just approach him and explain your and his situation and ask if you can assist him! Just my $hrinking .02 FRN.

I just found out one of the convenience stores in town sells the Njoy..I will pick one up for him and leave it on his doorknob :2cool:

I really appreciate all of the responses..you guys are great! :D

If they're KINGS it's all good. The regular disposables probably won't be worth a crap.

Kings have 30-45mg nic, will knock even an elderly lifelong smoker on his .... Typical gas station disposable is more like 12mg, which isn't enough to leave the impression that e-cigarettes CAN help you quit.
