In a tank are the wick ends supposed to be burnt?

Super newbie here. I was smoking Vuse and just a few hours ago got my Johnson Creek Vea with the canteen attachment. The canteens are plastic 1ml tanks that you throw away after 3 to 5 uses or whenever the taste gets bad.


So I charged the Vea, filled the tank properly and didn't get any in the middle hole screwed it on and vaped. Tastes fine. I hear a slight sizzle and if I look at the wicks inside oth are very slightly burnt on the ends. Is that supposed to happen. I've only had it going for like two hours.

Does your wick look like "mop heads", the coil on the top? Does it still vape and taste ok?

I don't mop but if you mean all splayed out - no. It tastes OK - I think. I just got the kit a few hours ago so I have 2 complete e cigs and I filled two tanks. It's VG based and the tanks are plastic disposable ones called cantinas. It's sizzles a little bit when I vape. Is that normal? It was a tobacco flavor. I also ordered a vanilla flavor and that one is not sizzling but the end tips look burnt on that one too but not as bad. I know I filled it correctly.

Are the wick end tips supposed to do that. Could it be possible that I got two bad cantinas.

You know I just tried it again and I think it does taste a little burnt but I am not sure...

Are you sure they're actually burnt, or have they stained a bit from the juice? What nicotine level are you vaping? Is the liquid clear or dark colored? The ends shouldn't be burnt, if anything the wick will burn at the coil.

I would propose that flavour is the most important indicator... If it's burnt, it'll taste burnt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems the logical conclusion

I'm vaping 1.6 VG based. I tried looking with a flashlight and the ends, the tips look dark so I think you are right.. I am going to move to a glass tank but sinceI am so new I went with the plastic and it's supposed to last 3 to 5 refills. What's interesting is I am wondering if it is the juice - it's the tobacco flavored one. I've got 2 e cigs and have 3 tanks filled. One is vanilla and that one is fine. It's in a clear warm thank. For the other ecig, I filled the tobacco flavor in a warn tank and in a cool tank and both of the tips look burnt but when I look with a flashlight I think it is dark. Maybe the tobacco flavor I got is woodsy or something.

Crackling is pretty normal with ecigs in general. They don't so it all the time, but sometimes they do.

Yeah it's gotta be the juice discoloring the tips a bit. Nothing to be alarmed about. And yeah, the crackling is normal. Some tanks do it more than others.

OK. Thanks much. I think it is the just the flavor because i refilled with a mix of tobacco and vanilla and it tastes fine.
