This is a fairly recent court ruling. ASH is obviously not all that interested in getting people to stop smoking -- as they were most certainly behind this in some part. They're tax exempt. Sure would like to know who is on their list of contributors.

E-Cigarette Imports Banned Indefinitely, Says Action on Smoking and Health (ASH)

Illegal? Give me a break! They are wanting people to buy analogs instead because they are missing those tax dollars. Does this mean all states? What are they gonna do, arrest people? The judge would look at that here and throw a case out in a heartbeat!

there has been no problem getting product, ao I'm gonna assume that there's much less to this than meets the eye.

Actually you may not be having a problem but the PV vendors have had plenty of problems getting the product through customs, including V4L. And it's costing them big time bucks.

It means the same old Same old..big talk. ASH is not the federal Government!
This part kills me:

The FDA had warned that e-cig use poses "acute health risks," that "the dangers posed by their toxic chemicals . . . cannot seriously be questioned," and that they have caused a wide variety of potentially serious symptoms "including racing pulse, dizziness, slurred speech, mouth ulcers, heartburn, coughing, ........, and sore throat."

What are these people talking about? Are they drinking the juice? Good grief!

If these are the only "serious" symptoms they can think of they are seriously delusional.

ASH is one guy - John Banzhaf. He's an ambulance-chasing lawyer, who is trying to get a class-action lawsuit against ecig companies that claimed they were smoking cessation products and didn't have any carcinogens. He's using the FDA report as a launch pad that those are false allegations and that people were misled and should get their money back. (Plus "damages" I'm sure.) I doubt he'll get many takers, as so many people LOVE their ecigs!

His anti tobacco work is funded by pharmaceutical companies. Don't ever believe anything you see originating from ASH!

Thanks Kristin! Vapers need to read some John Grisham books!

Vaping isn't for everyone!

I am sure there are people with a lawsuit bent will jump on his bandwagon.

If you picked up some mall device and took a few hits and didn't magically loose your cravings...well I am sure every stubbed toe and bad hair day can be trumped up to serious side effects of vaping! An excuse to stop vaping and find a lawyer.

Vaping isn't a magic bullet..you have to do the work, you have to want to quit, just like a diet.

What I want to know is why anyone with a parent or spouse that died of the effects of smoking are dead set against E-cigs..the name? The look of smoke? Whatever, you would think they would be leading the band of anything that helped us quit!

As someone who lost more than one relative to smoking induced lung cancer, I couldn't agree more Mary Kay.

Its just heart breaking that in this day and age, we have to fight Big Tobacco, for their profits, the Government, for their tax revenue, and by the looks of it, ANTI-SMOKING groups (lol) for their..is there a nice word for ignorance?

Leading the band is right. If ASH or the ACS or any other anti smoking group poked their head into the studies that have been done (outside of the FDA study that obviously had an agenda being that they had lost a lawsuit) that tested the "SAFER" issue instead of the "SAFE" issue...they'd be completely on our side. BTW why didnt the FDA list the levels of nitrosomines (sp?) on their report?

So sad, we're all about to be faced with a choice of being criminals, or dead (wo)men walking.

I guess those symptoms are more "serious" than slow merciless painful death from cancer ...ludicrous. That even if it were true. I don't even have to poll the ECF community to ask if they know of any of their vaper friends ever had anything resembling this symptom list. Because I am quite confident that if anyone presented any sort of symptoms even remotely possible to E Cigs it would be splashed all over the news the next minute.

Guess you never know for sure, but in other places where its banned..they just seize the stuff you ordered at the border. At this point as far as I know they don't chase you down to arrest or fine you. But losing a few grand in product hurts bad enough. Never knew I'd enjoy being an outlaw for quitting smoking lol
