In-house custom mixes vs brand name juices

Is it just me, or do customized mixes made by brick & mortar stores seem to be superior to prepackaged brand name juices? I started out with a few flavors made by Space Jam, Jolly Roger, and Caterpillar. I then moved on to a few custom juices made in-store at a couple of other vape shops - one in Raleigh, and one in Atlanta while I was visiting last week.

These juices seem to be far superior to the initial ones that I received in terms of both flavor, smoothness and cloud production. It's not that I don't like my three original juices - it's just that I find myself reaching for the latter more often than not!

I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this...

Ive tried all the local B&Ms vanilla custards and not one was close to Captains Custard but one local shop has a French Vanilla 40PG/60VG that is insanely good for just $13/30ml. Another has a blueberry 50/50 that is one of the best ive tried too. Its around $15/30ml. One of the oldest local vendor's juice all taste bland to me. Nothing i tried seemed worth buying except for mixing with a strong flavored liquid.

Personally i think ITCVapess liquids held up pretty good against all the local vendors ive tried and cost much less. My favorite local B&M for juice only offers 70PG/30VG unless i make a special order. Anything over 50/50 has not been agreeing with me as well lately.

That's interesting that you mention Captain's Custard. The Space Jam juice I have is called Starship, and it's almost identical to that one. I ended up giving it to a relative because out of all the juices I tried, I probably liked that one the least.

It might be just coincidence, or maybe that everybody's taste buds are different.

It all depends on the store. I did some sampling this week, while I was in OKC and most of the stores here make there own juice. I went to one and I thought I found a good flavor so, I bought a bottle. When I got it in my PV it tasted like crap. I don't know if the mix was bad or if tester was a different version. So a word to wise I guess is to ask was the tester made form the same batch.
