Being new to this world of mods I have a few questions about safety, making existing devices safer, etc.

1) I keep hearing the the use of dual batteries is more dangerous. Why is this the case over a single battery?

2) It is proposed that a liner be used in the tube so that a battery could not short out on the tube. Could a sleeve be fashioned out of say screen door material and used inside our Buzz/Infinite's? Is this something Notcigs could/would provide?

3) Any change of sources safer batteries for the Infinity? Safer chemical make-up that is.

4) Are these mods the only devices that potentially can have issues (or at a higher risk) than say a run of the mill eGo?

Thanks

To answer dmako from what we know and it is very little ALL of the devices we UN PROTECTED devices meaning they had NO internal protection built into them , all of the Notcigs products have always had protection built into them.
1. SO far they have only reported dual battery explosions , this can be for several reasons A. No Protection B. self made mods C. bad battery cover caused a short inside the tube D. Has to be this included < sealed MOD !!!!! E. all of the above.
2.The Anodized Notcigs products are ALL internal anodized this is an INSULATOR to electricity so they already are insulated. I recommended this to ECF to add to the list actually.
3. No one makes a 14430 IMR type batt that I know of
4 ANY battery can have a failure or meltdown MANY EGO's have already done this , ECF can do nothing about the Chinese MODS ( like an EGO ) so they got left out .

Use common sense use protected mods use good batts with a good cover , they are CHEAP replace them if they seem NOT RIGHT .

Hope this all helps.

1: I keep hearing that too, but have yet to see documented reasoning other than your are doubling the voltage and current
2: I havn't heard of the battery contacting the tube being an issue, but that is a reasonable convept
3: the infinity already uses protected batteries, not sure what more you could do to make them safer, if there were a battery that Mike said were safer than the ones that he is currently selling, I assume he would start selling those, and I would switch the batteries that I am using to those.
4: I don't see why an eGo would be safer, it is also an electronic device, with a rechargable battery, the difference is that the eGo does not have a user accessable battery, and last time I checked, there aren't even any vents in an eGo.

EDIT: I see mike was reypying while I ws typing this.
Glad to see that the internal anodizing is another step that NotCigs uses to make sure that we have one of the safest mods available in our hands.

Mike,
What about switching to a protected battery in the Buzz? It would be one less thing to have to worry about. There is always the very slim chance of a catastrophic failure of the PCB causing all of it's protective features to become useless.

As with most things if you use them as intended they work ok, the problem is user error some people have been known to recharge nonrechargable batteries, put a battery in unit when it comes off the charger to hot to touch, these are just two examples i'v seen on the forums
as for the stacked batteries in the buzz i find that due to a regulated output the drain quite evenly, in unregulated mods one allways drains very rapid putting a strain on the cell thats why some people rotate every charge so battteries wear evenly
Aw batteries in a buzz is as safe as you can get with any mod and a buzz is proably the safest on the market
