Replace Yvette with the FDA and this pretty much sums up my feelings on them and their supposed "authority".

"Azer, the tobacco analyst, says she expects the FDA to ban both flavors and Internet sales, which so far have benefited the smaller companies that don't have a brick-and-mortar sales presence. As such, she says, she expects regulation will consolidate the industry — to the benefit of major players such as njoy and Big tobacco."

Wow, didn't see that one coming. Oh wait......I totally did.

Going to go spray my head with a halon extinguisher, brb.

I understand the need to regulate the age at which people should be allowed to purchase gear/liquids and whatnot...but the FDA saying "We don't know whats in it," just makes me laugh...

IF they actually tested it rather than constantly saying "it might be dangerous, we don't know whats in it" they might actually get somewhere. I know it takes time to see the long term effects on people but still...

And about the whole "some explode" thing...tons of things explode and cause damage to person and property...Cars for instance...I'm sure they weren't perfect when they first became popular either, but look at the auto industry now.

For the love of...can these people not see that we've found a good way to quit that isn't a box of gum or patches that costs $40-$70 a week. What it all boils down to is that the tobacco companies are losing money to the online stores and the B&M shops so their fine with seeing them shut down and to make matters worse you've got a bunch of brainless idiots who don't know a thing about vaping and have probably never been a smoker telling us whats right? Are you serious?

The second we take a step in the right direction the government has to go and mess it up...I ****ing hate this country sometimes.

Telling you man, its all about money. Unless "certain people" can get a cut of the profits vaping might as well be the anti Christ.

Well, I woke up this morning in my hotel room and as usual, walked to the door and got the wasted stack of paper known as "USA Today." Much to my dismay, on the cover, I see a story about e-cigs, focusing entirely on the big tobacco companies for any feedback. The main thing that angered me was the term "tobacco products," being used to refer to e-cigs and the numerous comparisons of our "tobacco products" and the other tobacco products that actually contain tobacco. I hate how the media so subtly paints a picture of something that simply isn't true and the millions of ignorant people out there just lap it up... This is exactly the type of labeling that will get these products banned everywhere.

Rant over.

Edit: After some thought, this article is merely advertising for the big tobacco companies. In the article, spokes people from the each of the big tobacco companies were interviewed, and they all sounded very confident. One thing that they mentioned was a possible ban on internet sales, which would put a much larger share in the hands of the big tobacco companies. It is all playing into their hands, and for me, I don't want to purchase another thing from them.

Where i live in the UK a local paper ran a story on a guy who had bought an ecig for the first time and had ended up with a mouth ulcer and his gums got a bit sore. There was no mention of the fact that it could have been an allergic reaction to PG, or that he could have got a bit of the fluid in his mouth, it was all about the evil ecig and how he advised everyone to stay away from them. He was also quoted as saying that his dentist told him he would have been better of carrying on smoking normal cigarettes.

Who did not see this coming? We don't need BT and their stupid commercials Vaping was doing fine with out them. Also company's like Njoy trying to force us in to their product so they can sell us their 50 cent ecig for 7$ I sure hope everyone is ready to rise up aginst the regulatory boards or Vaping as we know and enjoy it will be lost!

It could also have been a side effect of having quit smoking...

I really hate to be the pessimist here, but between the real and present threat of an online sales ban (which I'm guessing includes online sourcing/wholesale purchases from China - possibly an import restriction along with it), removal of flavors from juices, increased taxes/licensing, and the continuation of the entire country to rubber-stamp the use of e-cigarettes in with cigarettes ...the future is looking pretty dim for the PV/APV aftermarket.

I am - or was - shoring up financing and location to open my own B&M, but the closer it gets to October, the less promising that endeavor seems to be. Maybe it's time to go find myself a meaningless, catatonic, minimum-wage job somewhere and hope to God that I die before taxes run me completely out of money.

Firmly believe that *SHOULD* the FDA do something as completely silly (and immoral) as that "expected" by the Citigroup wacky tobaccy analyst (the analyst in this case, and not the tobaccy), I would at first be very shocked, but the lawsuits will surely start flying. I'm sure there are those in the industry that would not take such an assault lying down.

I feel like vapers in general just aren't going to stand up and be 'loud' enough to be heard by the idiots in the government. We don't have the money and firepower that big tobacco companies do. The fact that vaping saved your life or mine just looks like a shrinking profit margin to them.

Well said.

The truths of our country really hits home doesn't it. The sad part is, we were arrogant enough to convince other countries of a Democratic lifestyle.
I can't believe the lies the opponents get away with. I'm flabbergasted.

Are the various "homes" on ECF being reminded to write, speak up, or have they all clicked the yellow alert band closed so they can gab without interruption? I hope everyone is fighting. Wake up people!!

I just heard about the ECC taking place in Anaheim, Ca, September 20-2? I can't believe how much stuff I miss when my nose is stuck in one thread or another. I hope a lot of people attend! I can't go, not enough time to plan for it. (Scheduling hubby time off from work, rental car, reserving motel, etc). Bums me out there wasn't more talk about it.

I so want to comment to those news blurbs, but, that's why the news blurbs run with drama, to "look" popular with all their hits and comments.
We need our own newscasters, stations, and journalists. (Investigative ones too)".

I think we will, and I am in fact counting on it.
But if we don't, well, I have 10 years worth of supplies.

But yes, I still think we will.
How could we not?
