In your personal opinion, what would you say is the "best" PV on the market right now? I know it's kind of a subjective question, but I'm just curious about the REAL differences between all of the PV's out there.

I see all the cool looking box modded units and think to myself how much better they probably are. But really, are they? Do they perform "better" than say a regualr 510 or ego-t, etc.

I guess what I'm getting at is, I want somthing better than the average pv that's out there.

Somthing that performs better than rest, better everything basically.

So what's the best?

All of them are BETTER just ask the MFG ! , it depends on what you want , go here to take a look Variable Voltage | e-Cigarette Mods by Specs
I pointed this to the Variable Voltage mods ( newest and greatest type now ) but there are all of the basic types listed on that site.

If you want control over the flavor and Hit go VV ( varivolt ) then there is look and bling and etc. etc.

there is NO one best for everyone IMO

There's quite a few advantages to mods, at least in my opinion. For one thing they use nonproprietary batteries so they'll be available pretty much no matter what. The cost of those batteries is also usually less unless you're buying top of the line AW's. If you choose a big batt mod they start out at a higher voltage, my 18650's start at 4.18v fresh off the charger and after 8 hours of use they're still over 3.9v, at 12 hours they're just getting down to 3.7v. The best you can hope for out of an eGo or Riva is 3.7v. This means those mod batt's hit harder and last longer. You can also use just about any atty on the market, from 1.5 ohm on up. Some eGo users have reported that LR's have killed their batts. You can also get VV mods that'll let you dial in just the right combination of voltage to resistance to get the best results out of your juice. No mass produced unit out there can do that yet.

The main drawback to mods is the cost, although you can get a simple boxmod setup for around the price of an eGo kit. Once you get into something a bit more durable cost rises sharply. Mods can also be confusing to newbies because they don't come in kit form so you have to know how to match components or you'll get poor results. For newbies I usually recommend the Riva because it's kind of like plug'n play. Besides everyone needs a backup rig so it'll still be there for them if they upgrade to a mod later.

As far as what's best, that depends on what you want to put into it, and get out of it. Make a list of things you require your mod to have or do, then do some research. You'll find something that comes close to matching your criteria. If you're interested in trying a mod to see what all the fuss is about just get a basic boxmod, or better yet build one yourself. If that sounds interesting check this thread out:

Although I agree with all of the above answers, I think there is another.

I don't rely on one PV. I like to have something for every occasion rather than trying to make one PV suit every situation. I can't think of a single product that doesn't have at least one drawback that keeps it from being perfect for me. And the products I've kept each have something about them that makes them perfect for different situations. This would get long winded if I described each PV I use and why/when I use it, so I'll cut it short by saying that everything I have that isn't in the junk/parts drawer or that hasn't found its way to the garbage can gets used. I am currently using 5 different systems on three different power sources. Some get far more use than others, but they all get used.

I've only owned three mods and just recently got back into using PVs and kicked analogs after being back on them for a year.

The original Prodigy V1 I got was amazing for me - it kicked the pants off my 901 auto-bat and my 510 manual bat and was what originally got me off analogs. 5v was just perfect for me.

I got the original run of the S6 from Super T as well and while it was a thing of absolutely beauty 6v was just too hot for me. I sold all my PV stuff quickly after buying that.

I just got back into PVs as I said and picked up a Darwin and I must say - I'm blown away with the mod. I think my favorite thing even over the VV and power regulated aspect of it is the fact that I don't have to carry around a ton of batteries and the charge lasts forever.

My two cents.
