I am on the forum a lot but not always able to be active within the short time frame. Feels like 5-10min?
Any chance of it being extended to 30-60min before you are auto logged out?

i don't seem to get logged out at all, no problem fixing dinner, eating, and then returning to ecf. could it be something in your settings?

I have the same situation occurring constantly with my login status. I can be logged in in fact, and while I'm typing a rather long novel in one or another forum, (I do this sometimes), I hit "Post Quick Reply" only to find out I have to log in again.

If there's ever a contest for who logs in the most at ECF I'm sure to win! Not complaining or anything but if it's a site bug for certain browsers on certain settings might be worth mentioning soooooo, consider it mentioned.

(Would help to know which browsers / antivirus / anti-malware / computer cleanup software)

Certain Firefox extensions will remove cookies on exit, as well as certain browsers. Each browser is different so it's hard to diagnose. Certain antivirus/malware will also remove cookies. Not to mention "computer cleaning" software.

I use Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Minefield, Camino and Opera. With every single browser I have never been logged out unless I click Log Out or forcibly clear my cookies.

While I cannot speak for the other person who posted a similar issue here, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm on Firefox3. I have turned OFF ALL spyware, AV and do not use any active PC clean up software. The ones I use you need to force run.
I do not have clear cookies enabled on shutdown for my FF3. This is the only site I have this issue. I belong to other sites for several years and have not had to log in unless as you mentioned I click the log out option. Funny thing about this issue is that for the last week this has been working fine and I have not had to log in unless I click log out. AV is back online as well. I've also run my cleaner program since then as well. CCleaner. So um ya you tell me whats going on here.
:confused::)

CCleaner removes cookies......

Yes I know it does. That's one of the reasons I use it. But is also why I stated it was OFF and has since been enabled but only AFTER the issue was no longer present.

So scenario 1) CCleaner Turned OFF AV OFF No cookies set to be removed it happened.

Senario 2) Issue self resolved ALL items are NOW back on and enabled and the issue is not happening.

While CCleaner removes cookies it also allows your to determine what ones to KEEP.

I use FF as well and have the same thing here as well as over there.Any other site will stay logged in as long as I don't run anything to clean up.

CC Cleaner has an option to "Save" Cookies..When I log in and check stay logged in..I go into cc cleaner and there is no cookie available to move over and save. ?

I do know that Having forums myself that there is settings that the owner can put in place as to how long users stay logged in. So I think its a setting that the Forum has in place.
