Weird. I have the same issue. BUT!!! My work laptop is running IE (I can't change or install a different browser...lame) and it happens all the time at work. At home, I have Firefox and I never have to log in. I don't get booted and I'm constantly logged in.
Very veird.
Try Google Chrome, even without administrator privileges you can install it.

The default for how long the cookie is stored is 1 year. (Hint: 1 year is longer then a few hours).
If you want to check this out feel free:
1. Firefox
Open Preferences, click on Privacy Tab, click "Remove Individual Cookie", type "e-cigarette-forum" into the search box, look for bbuserid / bbpassword, at the bottom it'll say "Expires:......"
2. Safari
Preferences, Security Tab, Show Cookies, Search for "e-cigarette-forum", look for bbuserid / bbpassword, find the column "Expires"
3. IE (Switch browsers, fast)

IECookiesView v1.74: Cookies viewer/manager for Internet Explorer to view cookie information. (Or switch browsers, I recommend switching)
4. Chrome
Preferences, Under the Hood tab, Content Settings, Cookies tab, Click "Show cookies and other site data", Search for "www.e-cigarette-forum", click on the little arrow, look for bbuserid / bbpassword, Look for Expires at the bottom of the dialog window.
5. Other
Most if not all browsers have a way to selectively remove cookies, somewhere around there it'll show the expire date of a specific cookie as well.
