Inawera- a few reviews

If one uses TA Virginia + DNB + some tobacco flavor, in general will adding WG Dark tobacco bring any more "goodness" into the mix? I understand that TAs bring in tobacco depth and DNB ashiness. I'm not sure about Dark Tobacco...Is it used more with non-tobacco mixes to give them some tobacco background flavor?

I can only speak for myself, but this is my simplified take on these three flavors {that also can be used to make 3 Inawera bases}

DNB = dirty, ashy
TA Virginia = tobacco with ashy notes
Dark Tobacco = tobacco without ashy notes

So I use these to fine tune other Inawera or non-Inawera tobacco flavor combinations. All three are very useful.

I just took delivery of TA Virginia and TA Cuban Cigar and DNB and I'm getting the ashy notes from the Cuban as well. The ashy taste was something I hadn't realised I'd been missing from my days smoking Golden Virginia rollups. Currently vaping a combination of Cuban, Virginia and milk chocolate. There's something very moreish about it.

One more question for today How is the performance of Classic Smooth Tobacco on the coils relative to the ones in the WG line? Is it on the gunkier side like a true NET or cleaner?

You said in your other post you'd rather minimal to no smokiness, right? Classic Smooth is like BBQ Liquid Smoke. You know the kind you cook with? It's pretty potent. Don't know about the gunky factor, I didn't drip enough to get there. lol

Thanks! Oh boy, yeah I don't do well with the BBQ/campfire kind of smokiness. I do like the smokiness and weight of a maduro cigar but that's not Liquid Smoke kind

I had some NET blends with Latakia and didn't like the amount of campfire in them. Similar experience with Ahlusion's Blue Grass Burley... Even though the tobacco in it wasn't fire cured (I think), the dark cured Kentucky Burley reminded of the campfire again.

If you're going to give that one a pass, if I may, I'd recommend Dark Fire and/or Desert Voyager. Jimi has a recipe for dark Fire and Virginia TA that's fab. Desert Voyager seems to be one that a lot of us like, even those of us with very different tastes in tobacco.

I have been vaping Dark Tobacco solo on and off for a few days as I like to get acquainted with the flavor profile and it's coil friendly.
I also notice different rdas that I use produce slightly different nuances from the flavor, type of coil, amount of watts etc.

I normally vape on a magma with dual coils at .6 ohm but I still find I get more flavor from the Atomic with dual coils at .6 ohm.

Thanks! I think Jimi mentioned in one of his posts that after a week of steeping, the Classic Smooth Tobacco mellowed and became more Lucky Strike like...Something along these lines... I wasn't sure though how much BBQ/Liquid Smoke/ Mesquite Smoke is left in it after steeping. Maybe someone who steeped it like 2+ weeks can let us know?

Did any of you noticed the chocolate is like a cream when using it with just one drop?
Do two drops and then the chocolate taste is noticeable

Ive noticed till now just one coil gunkier and that is the chocolate one, but I dont care to make a new coil for that one!

Its a twister, in beginning its hard to find any smokehouse or fireplace taste, its even more like a very fresh smell and taste but do give it 2 months of steeping and yes thats a lot, but the reward with be huge.

OK, for for science (lol) I just went and tasted the Smooth that's been steeping since 8/21. Yup. Still there. It's calmed down a very little bit on the liquid smoke but got a little dirtier. I can see how someone who liked strong dirty, smoky tobacco would like this but it's not for me, even at 1%.

Like Pink said, Dark Fire/Virginia TA is a nice fresh tobacco taste. I don't really bother steeping it much. I've tried quite a few FA tobaccos and they have some kind of underlying bitter taste that doesn't agree with me, but I haven't tried their Dark fire so I can't say.
I don't really get much honey from Desert Voyager, it's just tasty. I'm not being very descriptive today. lol
