Inconsistency with SS on temp control

I'm building a ego one clr with .38mm SS316l. I always wrap the same on a 3mm diametre with 4 wraps. It always comes in at 0.38-0.4ohms and I use it on temp control on my evic vtc mini.
However,

Sometimes the sweet spot is at around 370f and then I will rebuild and i'll need to take it up to 470f to get anything from it. In fact the coil i'm using at the moment the sweet spot is as low as 280f! Also, sometimes it will work perfectly on TCR mode, and other times it will burn on TCR and only work on regular ss316 tc mode, and this also happens the other way around occasionally. I have the TCR set at 0094.

Why am I getting these inconsistencies between builds?

Are you building spaced coils or contact coils?

i don't have any experience with that tank, but with it's low tcr ss 316l is going to be very dependent on how well it's resistance is read. any small variations are going to make a huge difference on the vape. make sure everything is tight and clean.
