I am new to building coils but have had good luck on my kayfun.
I have been building my single coils on a Ehpro KayfunLite+ clone, 1 ohm sometimes 1.2, 6 wraps on a thin metal craft pick, 28 Kanthal. It was been consistent everytime so it has been all super. I decided to buy another Kayfun clone (not sure manufacturer) , this time used, I am using same technique and everything but I keep on getting sub ohms, like .50-.69.
not sure what is happening.

With all else being equal and the same (wire gauge, number of wraps, diameter of coils), the only possible difference might be the length of the wire once mounted on the + and - posts. Could there be a difference in the distance of the posts, which would affect the resistance?

Less distance would drop the resistance (shorter wire = lower ohms). Longer distance between the posts (longer wire = higher ohms) would increase the resistance.

It does look at tad bit closer, Thanks. I will try again.
