anyone experiencing very inconsistent readings of resistance?
my protank was showing 3.4 ohms when i first put it in.
restarted my evic and it showed 2.8.
later in the day when i turned it back on it showed 2.4, which is closer to the actual resistance of the head.

this happens quite often with my other clearos as well.
vamo seems a lot more accurate.

only seems to happen with the kanger protanks.
just put it in and it stated 2.2 ohms.
after a while i notices it jumped to 3.1 ohms.
restarted my evic and it went back down to 2.4 ohms.

This happens on mine quite frequently when the battery get below 40%. I'm not sure why, but every time it happens the battery is 40% or lower. On mine, it doesn't really matter what kind of tank is on it. However, with that being said, mine is never off more than a few tenths of an Ohm. On the ProTank it will usually read somewhere between 2.2 -2.5 Ohms.

Did you screw the coil head down all the way into the PT base? Also, cleaning the contacts may help... I think many people clean the center contact but forget to clean out threading, since this is the return path for the current, it needs to be cleaned as well...

So how accurate do you guys find the eVic in measuring resistance? I'm yet to buy a multimeter (still looking for a fairly cheap digital one locally) so I'm pretty much relying on the eVic to measure coil resistance.

I've got a mech on the way and just for kicks I want to experiment with sub ohm coils (even if I'm likely to stay around 1-1.2ohms). Does the eVic read below 1ohm?

Thanks!

Just wanted to point something out from what I observed on my unit today...

I use a Protank with my eVic, and usually rebuild my Protank coil with cotton.

Out of quickness, I pulled out a stock, brand new, 1.8 Ohm head to replace the one that has the cotton rebuild.

I noticed after installing the fresh coil pack that the center positive post juts out more so tgan my rebuilt coils.

I never had a problem with my eVic reading ohms on my eVic if I used stock coils (fresh out of the foil pack) but it would give funny readings with my rebuilds (took two or three power cycling of the eVic to get the ohms right)

I think my problem after the rebuild, was that I was pushing the little center positive post/plunger piece in the coil pack too hard, so it sits more recessed into the 510 threading when assembled back...

For those that rebuild (or not) check your center positive post. It should *slighty* jut out beyond the outer threading of the 510 connection (negative connection) of the tank-side to make good contact with the positive nub on the eVic's side...
