I am starting to notice that my vaping experience varies from being good to poor and that the filler in my carts (polyfill) is slipping to far down in the cart, causing me to get a burnt taste, little vapor production and to have to nearly constatly fiddle with the carts, pulling up the filler...

How can I remedy this and get back to a consistant experience?
Should I change my filler to something else? What?

Last night I got so tired of messing with it that I started dripping into the atty instead and I like the results but I have heard that dripping is tough on the atty and will cause it to burn out faster than using carts, is this true?
I am putting two drops on the atty each time I drip, is this enough, too much?
Thanks guys.

Is it a old atty? Possibly starting to die. New atty..does it have the ring? They give me problems also. Polyfill old? Gets too hard, I replace it with Fluval after a while as the polyfill doesn't seem to wick for crap. Flooded out or gummed up. Blow it clean and see what comes out. Try them out to see if it helps.

Yes filler problems are a pain. Check out the forum, search for cart fillers or cart mods, a lot of people have different ideas. The most popular seems to be the Blue fish tank filter foam.

As far as dripping goes, I cant help you there because I don't do it but 2 drops sounds good. You can experiment, if the amount of drops you put in floods the atty you know what it's limit is.

The atty's (two) are a week old, I am getting the same results from both atty's which is why I think it's the carts and fill...
I have tried blowing them out and I am still getting the same results of the fill slipping down in the cart to the point that the atty can't get to the juice.

I will check out the PTB mod.

Check out HighPing's http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/70962-my-simple-cart-mod.html. I have heard good things about it. Just change the length of the cart polyfill and you should be good to go!

BTW, try this one first as it is the easiest to implement.

I just read that one today and have already refilled my cart twice. It works like a plunger, when the vapor starts to peter out and I take off the cart, the piece of filler is on the bottom.

WORKS GREAT!

I got tired of filling carts and never got enough vapor from them. Now I just drip and I find more satisfying. I have not noticed having any trouble with my atomizers. I have been vaping 11 months and have only loss a handful of atomizers.
Same and not lost any yet. I use a PT, helps it run nice n hot - think that helps too. Dripping is awesome - unless you're driving ;-)

I got the cart mod bug within my first few days of vaping. I'm now over a month out.

I've done everything as well as most. I've found that the most hassle free method for me was to use the BFM (blue foam). Easy to use and reuse.

I'm still using the first two atty's that came with my 510 starter kit. No problem with either one of them. Vapor production, taste, it's all still very good. And all I do is blow out the atty when I'm going to change flavors. I do have spares, but I haven't even had to break the seal on the packages yet.

Long and short is the experience is a bit different for everyone. Some of us even think/thought that a certain mod seemed great at first, but the learning experience later told us that method wasn't for us so we moved on.

Good Luck and I hope you find your fix!
